| For those not on the mailing list, now would be a very good time to update your Wordpress install. The new release fixes a core security bug.

| does every wp pages have their own notice on top of the admin pages ?
cause i got noticed everytime there an update of wp even i have no wp's mailing list.

| Are you sitting 24x7 in front of your pc staring at your wp dashboard waiting for "updates"? well good for you.
I only post once / twice a week with my blog which means that's the only time I see my dashboard but my e-mail is monitored at least 12x7

| i am not arguing with mailing list system, but if you care about your wp site, 2 days a time would be enough to visit your admin page, or otherwise it's up to you on how you get the update.

It allows you to be subscribed to their Wordpress Announcements.
Is this the right place to get on their list?

| If you're looking for notifications re new updates, you could also install
WP-update-notifications
It emails you when there is a new update available.

No, I'm not a mod, but this is a discussion forum and I'm going to do exactly that - discuss. It was my opinion that you could have opened a new thread instead of bumping an old thread and putting more work onto the already busy moderation team.

| Since I'm still subscribed to this thread and receive email updates, I don't think it's such a bad idea to update this thread when there's a new WP update. I would have otherwise been uninformed so this thread came in handy.
Now, wondering why I didn't receive anything from WP's own mailing list regarding an update.
