I Hate Gazzin!!!

Posted by badprogrammer, 10-18-2005, 07:30 AM
I am really fed up of gazzin! They just have the worst down time on the face of the planet! My sites are ever down and by ever I mean ever! The bad thing is that they always have excuses about "or this server is being upgraded" or "we are changing ip addresses". Excuses do not heal a problem. And another annoying thing is that sometimes they just say "everything is fine here" as if the people complaining are stupid! Go to the chat facility and mention anything to do with downtime and no one will answer you! I want to move but am worried for my sites and my data. Anyone know the safest way to migrate websites? Please help me and tell me. There is going to be an excuse or an "everything is now okay" response to this message. Just wait and see. As if I dont know what am atlking about!

The first thing you should do is be sure to have full backups of all your data and sites. I believe Gazzin offers cpanel hosting so if you decide to move to another cpanel host they should be able to restore your sites quickly from these backups. If you are losing business can you really afford not to move if your website is down to much?

Get a host willing to help you transfer all the sites over. That is the fastest and easiest way. Want added security? Grab backups of each and store them locally.

Hmm, I find it hard to believe that Gazzin could be regularly changing server IPs. IP switches take at least a month in advance notification and preparation to avoid downtime.

Hi, First off what is your server and domain so I know what the problem is. Second we do not change server ip what is the point? We only changed one of our secondary nameserver IP which we updated all our clients. This was due to our secondary namesever located in a datacenter that had zero support. This was require for the move. As for chats we answer ALL queries that come in. If we receive too many then some will get pend. If you cant wait simply open a ticket. I am sure ALL host is the same we are not here to ignore you.

Incognito, they could possibly be meaning that their servers are being transfered to a different rack in the datacenter (needing a new IP range) Or that they just got a new server, and they were moving all accounts over. Dunno. To the original poster: Are you using dialup, or Cable/DSL to connect to the internet?

clanosiris already stated an official answer to the issue with the IPs. They updated their nameservers, not the actual server's IP..

I have never seen so many negative threads about the same company before. I sure hope they get things ironed out. Attached Thumbnails
