jodohost -- what do you think about their Hsphere panel?

anyone here have jodohost?
Hsphere better than cpanel/
I am thinking of buying their 'valuehost package'.
need feedback on their pros and cons and how they compare to Hostgator and reseller zooms packages.
Jodohost is offering "dedicated IPs" 5 of them for their 'valuehost package" -- anyone know what they are used for.And why i need 5 of them ?
THanks

Hsphere is better than Cpanel, but I really dislike them both.
CP aside, let me saying dealing with JodoHost was quite a positive experience. Their customer support is top notch. They went out of their way to make my experience pleasant. And when I cancelled because I didn't like Hsphere, they were great. I can't say enough about Jodo. If I do ever get into the Hsphere game, Jodo is the ONLY place I will go.

Hi vj135,
In a nutshell, H-sphere allows you to setup both Linux and Windows accounts.
I cannot compare them to the other 2 because I have not used them.
Dedicated IP's are generally needed for accounts that are going to use their own certificates for SSL (Seure Sockets Layer) for e-commerce type sites.
Depending upon how many domains you have or will have that use ssl...will tell you how many dedicated IP's you need.
I am with JodoHost currently and I am very pleased with them.

i recommend hostgator and jodo combination. we have having both.
For linux - cPanel is most user friendly control panel. H-sphere is bit slow compare to cPanel and managing so many accounts eg more than 100 on H-sphere is not easy (compare to whm/cpanel logic) but for win2003 h-sphere is good
Jodo has good client support but if you look at their hosting plans - you need to pay additional for giving control panel to each user. so for 100 control panels you can count your budget
both are good at support and uptime. but i suggest windows with jodo and linux with gator

You dislike 75% of the control panels used by web hosts today ;-) . Which control panels are you fond of ?
I agree with you that both Cpanel and Hsphere can both use some changes but what would you recommend ?

100 additional users would cost you only $50/month extra ($0.50/month per user). Now if your customers are paying you on average $10/mo, you are making $1000/mo while paying us only $50/mo. I don't think that is bad at all.
Also, each user license you use is paid by us. Each HSphere license prices $4.50 one-time plus 20% maintenance annually. So an HSphere host would pay $450 + $90/year for your licenses. I think $0.50/month per CP is a bargain
HSphere is quite powerful and flexible compared to other control panels, both in terms of automation and ease of management. However yes, there is an initial learning curve and if you don't go through our documentation properly, you may find things confusing.

I have had a few months experience with Hsphere and I think it's a really good control panel, just takes a little time to get use to everything.
I think the major advantage Hsphere has over cPanel is that it can be used with Windows OS where cPanel can only operate on *nix platforms. Although cPanel is in development for Windows, not sure when it will be out but according to cPanel's website it is in production.

IMHO HSphere's main advantage over cPanel is not that it supports both Windows & Linux simultaneously, but the fact that you can build fully scalable server clusters. Being able to run mail, database, DSN, CP and web on separate servers ensures better performance and reliability.
However, for endusers Automation/Integration and Multi-Platform support are the two main highlights of HSphere. The advantages of server clustering aren't something most end-users understand, as long as they are getting great service

Completely forgot about the clustering, that is another good point

I completely agree with Yash! H-Sphere is better than CPanel when the host is big enough to run tens if not hundreds of servers. Plus it allows the customer to have both Linux and Windows based accounts. The user CP interface may need some simplification so that newbie web hosting users can navigate through it much more easily. But that can also be customized, when the Host is diligent enough

I have used hsphere in the past, but I find the JodoHost hsphere control panel slow. Otherwise it seems to be fully featured and up to date.

I would be interested if someone gave me their opinion about gazzin.com , xhostsolutions.com and jodo for windows hosting. i would appreciate if someone could suggest other windows hosting companies who offer reseller and/or shared plans. serverdivision is not an option. their service is horrible at best.

I wouldn't say so, we've tried just about every control panel out there and have always come back to cPanel

This is the first time I'm hearing this. Our CP server runs on a dedicated Dual XEON SCSI box. Load is almost always under 1.
However we do perform a weekly vaccum process on our cp database to keep it optimised. That can cause the CP to become slow for upto an hour, once a week (done during early morning hours, sunday)
If you are current customer, please do PM with any ticket # you may have submitted on this issue.
