Blocking users with dynamic IPs...
Posted by Zixt, 08-09-2011, 05:51 PM Hi, I run a Minecraft game server in offline mode and whenever I IP ban someone - they just seem to come back in 15 minutes after restarting their router. I try finding their host and blocking IT but it doesn't work, since I think Minecraft only sees the IP. Is there any foolproof way to blocking a user behind multiple dynamic IPs without blocking a range, etc, without having to IP-ban them each time they join.

Posted by Geoff Winans, 08-13-2011, 12:30 AM Zixt, minecraft can't handle IP Ranges in bans. You'll need to use iptables to handle it.
Posted by TailoredVPS, 08-18-2011, 06:11 PM You could block their entire ISP range. But then you are limiting access to a lot of legitimate players that might be on the same IP range.
