Vortech vs Surf Speedy vs JodoHost

http://vortechhosting.com/reseller/starter-reseller.php http://surfspeedy.com/reseller_hosting/index.htm http://www.jodohost.com/reseller.asp All are good offers, but quality is very important as well. Any comments highly appreciated. Thanks, Neofree

Jodohost and Vortech use Hsphere. Surfspeedy uses Cpanel. So not sure on your needs but that may factor in. Also, check our Hostgator too. They use Cpanel. All are good hosts but Hsphere and Cpanel are not similar. -Jay

it depends really what you are aiming for. you've selected 2 H-Sphere resellers and 1 providing you with Cpanel/Whm. I know cPanel/whm and it's okay but I'm also planning a move to H-Sphere because the ability to offer both windows and linux with 1 plan is quite good. I think if you live in the states you can't go wrong with jodohost. if you browse their support forums, you'll see support and users are very knowledgeable. vortechhosting has a nice offer going on right now, I've seen it too I don't know surfspeedy hope this helps a bit

I generally prefer H-Sphere, but I also prefer Linux hosting over Windows. cPanel is still Linux and am willing to consider it if they have done a better job at making it secure/stable. If cPanel is still what it was in the past, then forget it. The offer at Surf Speedy would allow me to change my costs quite a bit, no H-Sphere host is going to let me do that without comprimising quality. But I would hope they offer a true quality and secure service. (In comparison anyway.) Thanks, Neofree

if you prefer H-sphere I guess you could stay with it take jodohost then maybe, you get a few little extra's like Oracle db and a VPS

I am already with JodoHost actually. I put it up for comparison. But I have mostly customers who have a lot of video and see many many 5GB for under $10 offers now and I am loosing 30%-50% of my customers by switching to JodoHost. Thanks, Neofree

I am now considering knownhost.com and jaguarpc.com as well. Thanks, Neofree

Let me know when you find unlimited capacity u320 SCSI drives for a fair price, and I will buy them all up

Posted by awhost, 06-04-2006, 05:16 PM
Never will happen. You specified Unlimited. That's not possible with a hard drive. Thanks, Neofree

Yes, I am sorry, I can not express sarcasm fully online It was just a bit of a joke, we have recently increased our offerings, and they are within reason. The way so many offer such huge amounts of space is by extreme oversales. Most of them if you started using for hosting videos will shut you down pretty quickly.

Maybe not with a hard drive, but with a hard drive array that is infintely expandable - maybe .

Maybe you need to start a budget offering with most of the stuff geared towards providing cheap bandwidth for downloads. If you are looking for reliability and stability, it does cost money for the provider to ensure that. Make sure you explain the difference between a budget and quality offering to your end customers.

I went and signed up with www.knownhost.com. Their offer looks great and their company has been very nice to work with. The problem with H-Sphere hosts is the "budget" hosts like Vortech and JodoHost sell at aproximatly $7-10 for 1GB/20GB. Many hosts are giving 5GB now. But I think 2GB/30GB is a fair comprimise. I was able to save all the customers by notifying them of the new rates I can offer by switching to www.knownhost.com. I understand the value of having both Linux and Windows, but I also understand that competition is heavy. All of my customers are smart enough to do a simple google and ask why my costs are not comparing at all. It BOGGLES my mind that some hosts still charge $6-10 for 100-200MB of space. Thanks, Neofree

Cool, sounds good. Do post your review of knownhost. Have a good time hosting with them.

Good luck with your new host look forward to the review. I do have to say that all things being equal lowest price isn't neccesarily the best route for your customers. I've done that before in the past that I just went with the lowest cost provider and most of the time I've learned to regret it. Quality and service has a cost which I've learned I'm willing to pay for (within reason of course).

If your customer does a simple google search.. they'll find hosts offer 20GB for $5/month. Really.. there is no limit to what people try to sell You do not have to compete on pricing neofree, you can also compete on the strength and quality of your service. That's just my 2 cents, I wish you luck with your new host

Well I ended up cancelling with KnownHost, but it had nothing to do with their service. Anyone considering using them I have to say they offer fantastic service and an excellent price. I just am not comfortable with Plesk or cPanel. I found that I just am too comfortable with H-Sphere being tightly integrated and there is no need to configure a seperate billing system that I really would like to stick with H-Sphere if possible. I made my costs the absolutely lowest I could without overselling and offered that to my customers as an alternative to movng. Hope that solves the situation... In the mean time I am looking for lower cost H-Sphere hosting incase they don't like the idea. I actually hope they choose to stay as I think JodoHost is a great host. Thanks, Neofree

Well H-Sphere is a lot different than CPanel, I my self really hate CPanel for many reasons and think H-Sphere is 100x better. There is just no way to compare the 2 at this time H-Sphere kills CPanel hands down.. I hope who ever your chose your find what you need and thanks for considering us.

I have been with Vortech for over 2 years as a reseller and would say they are the best hosting company I have used in 10 years of being in the business. Their equipment/facilities are excellent and their staff are always helpful and quick to answer support requests (few they are).

Posted by awhost, 06-12-2006, 01:37 PM
Yeah I hear you. I prefer Plesk over cPanel. And I prefer H-Sphere over Plesk. The votes so far aren't looking good!! I've been searching for a cheaper H-Sphere host but having no luck at all. Might have to do Plesk even though I really dont want to. Thanks, Neofree

another vote for vortech here, almost 3 years straight, and definitely the best hsphere host you can go with. Looked at jodohost for a second provider, and someday may do it, but so far with vortech I have had no complaints / issues that were not resolved in a timely manner and you cant ask for more than that.

Posted by Lakpura, 06-13-2006, 11:32 AM
we are with vortect for last 2.5 years and currently host close to 600 domains. We can highly recomend vortech.

Posted by awhost, 06-13-2006, 11:39 AM
Well the vote has finished and it's a clear victory for Plesk! Good luck to those who stay with H-Sphere... But as most of my customers have video based sites, I have to take extra effort to compete on price to keep my customers. Signed back up with KnownHost! So far I have nothing but positive to say about them. Thanks, Neofree

I have tested Jodohost about 7 months ... they are great. 1. Outstanding Customer suppport. You get a real 24x7 with the live chat. I just love it. My support team also love. If there anything that beyond our reach (server setting etc). We just drop by the live chat and it settle almost instantly. For more complex situation, tickets are more suitable. The ticket respond is less than 1 hour. 2. Great servers Can;t says more about the reliablity of Jodo server But they have some downtime during Febuary 2006. But after that, servers is sailing smooth. Most of the server uptime is 99.9% http://www.hyperspin.com/publicreport/3983/6379/2/22180 This is the report generate from Hyperspin pointed to our reseller server. You can;t go wrong with Jodohost (period). Their price is fair and the support is extremely good. Thank you,
