Choosing from my shortlist

Posted by ridesign, 06-16-2006, 09:57 AM
Hi, I am currently hosted with Reseller Zoom on their advanced package, however increasingly i have have experienced that the server is down or very slow so that is unusable, also the mysql connections fail due to the time it takes to load. Today alone I had server loads of 18.12. I am considering: Hostgator U2-web Dataflame .co.uk cwcs .co.uk bluehost I would appreciate any comments, I have read that many people prefer hostgator, but can't find much on u2-web, dataflame or cwcs Also is there anyone else i should consider, in the budget of upto $35 per month. I don't need a reseller package, but it needs to be reliable. -Should i consider VPS (i don't have any knowledge of how to maintain a server) Requirements: 3GB Space 25Gb Bandwidth 30 add-on domains 50 MySQL databases if possible 200 parked domains Also I need to be able to send newsletters, upto 2000 via throttling or in one go. Installed Trusted Shared SSL or private Also what stats should i look for to see if a host is quick and the mysql database is reliable +quick thanks

Hostgator has many happy reviews on this forum so they would get my vote, you can also find many reviews on hosts at (INC hostgator): http://www.webhostingjury.com Goodluck in your search :-).

As far as I know, Bluehost and Hostgator are completely different. Bluehost oversells like anything and Hostgator is more reasonable with their packages. However, I believe that a budget 35$ should throw some very good options for you. Best of luck in your search.

Two more hosting firms to consider-- they have excellent uptime, don't overload their servers and have fast, helpful customer service: Sonet7.com sjrhosting.com

Best would be to put fwd some sales questions to each of the companies you have listed and see their response times...you have a nice budget in mind so i can suggest hostgator..

sonet7 seem to reply quick to the first email but if you reply and ask another questions they don't seem to reply, unless i start a new ticket. but sonet7 are out as they don't offer a trsuted shared ssl
