Something comparable to SJR?
Posted by NigelB, 06-19-2006, 01:37 AM |
I'm new to this forum and have been doing a lo-o-o-o-t of reading on here and on other sites too numerous to mention in my quest to find a new provider that offers reselling accounts (my current one has gotten too sketchy for my tolerance level, as well as too pricey). I really liked everything I read and researched about SJR (great features, great price, great service) and I was all set to sign up when I saw that they don't allow hosting of investing sites. While this isn't an issue now, I have some concern that it may become one. My main business is financial management and bookkeeping and some of the people I deal with (and who may potentially want to host with me) may indeed want to set up an investing site (i.e. legitimate investment firms who want to have web presence, not some sort of scam where people solicit for investors through their website). I don't want to close that door, so I was wondering if anyone can recommend a provider with reseller packages that compare well to SJR's, but who would allow investing sites? Thanks!

Welcome on Board.
I think you might want to check Resellerzoom. I think the only host with comparable pricing will be RZ and that too with their budget offering.
I would suggest that you also drop an email to Scott at SJR to apprise him of your concerns. Maybe he can work out something for you.
Best of Luck in your search.

Are you sure they don't allow any investment related websites? Virtually all hosts these days don't allow the so called HYIP (high yield investemt programs) because they're just pyramid schemes, but a serious investment website should not be a problem.

Exactly, we do not allow HYIPs. We had to add no investment sites to the blocked content list, because the HYIP owners tried to pass their sites not as HYIPs, but normal investment sites.
As long as it is not an HYIP or pyramid scheme any legal investment site would be perfectly fine.

Thanks for everyone's responses. As suggested I emailed Scott. In fact we have been emailing back and forth all morning and he has been very responsive in answering all my questions and addressing any concerns I had. I think we'll be switching to SJR before the day is out. Thanks again!
