Kualo.com Review - After 4 years of experience
Posted by maxxkin, 07-07-2006, 03:19 PM |
I just checked and it's been almost a full 4 years for me with kualo. I've used their reseller service during this time. So I belive that I am in capable to say a few words about their services.
When I started with kualo I was a complete newbie on hosting generally. So I had a lot of questions on my mind and of course I kept having problems. But their endless and tireless support solved all my problems. They were allways nice, helpfull and they always tried to understand my exact question. They have never simply send me link to their FAQ page.
Especially at the begining I was a quite annoying client, raising tickets often but they just kept being polite and helpfull.
I mostly got my answers lightning fast. Under 10 mins, if not 5. And this is even on low priority tickets.
Their forum is also full with answers, tips and tutorials. And a very good place where clients also help each other.
Their uptime is very good. I can't remember if I had a downtime at all.
I've seen (and worked) with some other cheaper hosts as well as more expensive ones. Kualo's overall price is competitive and on terms of price and performance I think it is very good.
I can say that they were pretty stict on some issues. For example when they see something may cause a security issue they do what they think is necessary and if you have a problem with it.. well, you have to live with it.
I found this quite understandable since that is their servers and their business. And the things they were concered was understandable.
On the other hand they are flexible as well. During the last three years I missed one or two payments (simply forgot). But I didn't have a blackout, instead I got a polite reminder.
In short, I've had a very good 3 years with Kualo and I am very happy that I've chosed them at the first place.
Right now I am leaving Kualo to have a Windows reseller account elsewhere. Unfortunately Kualo doesn't offer Windows solutions at the moment.
I am not good about hosting reviews and I just hope this helps someone in someway...
Thank you for everything Jo, Dennis, Craig, Anil and other Kualo staff that helped me during all these times..

Max,
Very nice review. Good detail. So often all we ever get to hear is the bad. Refreshing to read something positive! By the way, what domian do you have hosted with them?

And such a policy protects all customers on that server, inclusing you-know-who.
Did you leave yet? If not, may we know a domin that you host with them? Send it to the moderating team via http://www.webhostingtalk.com/report.php?p=3976791, and you'll remain anonymous.
Thank you for taking the time to write an informative review!

Thank you for the comments on the review...
Unfortunatelly I've moved all my domains to a Windows host during last week and the last nameserver changed today.
Hopefully next time when I post a review on a host I'll remember to do it, while I still have websites on their servers.
I tried to keep it detailed but if there is anything I left it our, please let me know..

I've been with Kualo for more than 3 years and I second maxxkin on giving thumbs up to Kualo.
They have built their business around "good support practices" which is highly appreciated when you have a busy schedule like mine. I have 3 reseller accounts with them and am signing up for an additional VPS account, ASAP.
