Guys how do I take partition backups with dd command??

dd's not specifically designed for backups; dump is probably better if you really want to backup the entire filesystem. I'd recommend only backing up what you need though.

You don't, it won't help. There are other ways to do backups which you should choose; tell us what you want to do and someone will give you some free advice. Which may be worth exactly what you paid for it

say I want to backup a few drives what may be the best way /dev/sda2 or /dev/sda5
