my initial judge of dotable.com

as some of you could read my review on dathorn. Now i want to tell you what happened afterwards ;-).
Ive decided to go with aussie bob and his dotable. since they promised me postgresql ;-) and i think their experience in this industry.
at first ive taken a LOT of Roberts time, asking him lots of stupid questions about different things. As i always want to be sure everything will be as i expect to be ( he was even surprised that i actually read the whole TOS ;P ) . Then i started to post in their forums about postgresql and having tsearch2 avilable for use. I was talking with dotable's admin , steve. There is one thing that shocked me, they installed tsearch2 for me , BEFORE ive even signed up. how is that for quality service ? :]
so ive wasted even more of steve's and robert's time asking stupid questions. Yesterday ive finaly signed up. I had an account created in few minutes, and we started to move. since my main account is about 1,2 GB pure data that was a major operation. since we're in different timezones it was very late night for robert, and we stated moving, not everything went smooth but we've tried to work out every issue that would rise. The time Robert ended moving my accouts it was 4 am ( for him, for me it was 11 pm or so ), 18 accounts moved, we needed a good drink .
the best part was that some smaller domains didnt restore right ,so the first thing robert saw in his helpdesk was probably a ticket from me that i need him to transfer some of it again poor guy.
but we've managed to go through the move process, it was quite a stress to me i must say, but robert handled in his best professional way ( no worries )
and now the ugly part, ive started to abuse admins patience ;-)
ive postel like 50 support tickets today in 10 h ? something like that all according postgresql, do this...run this query there...install this...broke the server there, im quite surprised they did everything ive asked . steve was so helpful that if id ask to bash the server with hammer because my postgres wasnt working right he'd probably do it ;-)
and in the end it seems that it was steve who was right and about 50% things ive wanted him to do was unnecessary ( sorry steve im only human and make mistakes sometimes too ), but some was.... ROTFL.
so far i must say ive received excellent support from dotable, and im expecting that they will perform as great as andrew thorton's company.
after this day they will probalby tell stories to their granchildren about "this damn postgres guy".
GREAT JOB !

Sounds like you found a host that makes the extra effort for their clients. I think Aussie Bob needs a break now

Hopefully, not all their customers are as demanding as you, or they won't be getting any sleep.

dont worry, its one time shot, we set up everything, ensure it works fine , and they will not have to deal with me until real problem occurs or i will need to use that postgresql eventually then we never sleep mwhahaha...
sadly i know that for hosting indusrty not demanding clients with small ( best html ) pages are best, and im the worst possible kind of client

If you post on WHT (as long as you have good experiences) then you're not such a bad customer to have.
