Resseller guide

| Please does anybody know of any e-books, website guides, websites etc etc with in depth info on being a web hosting resseller. I cant seem to find a good ammount of info on the subject
Sure theres plenty of advice choosing a resseller, but little advice on setting up and running the business

| You may want to read through the running a web hosting business forum.
You can probably learn most of what you need to know right here on WHT. There is a wealth of knowledge here from people directly in the business that you can't learn from just a book.

| As lubby sad, sometimes the best way is to use the forum and, when you can't find what you're looking for, just ask. What type of reseller method are you seeking? For cpanel? A good starter may be reading through their website's documentation.

| Hmm... there was also a pretty extensive PDF if I remember correctly that was around a few months ago... although I can't remember what it was called.
It was something like a "Resellers Guide To Hosting."
I'll have to search around for it and see if I can find it... anyone else might know the name or the URL to it?

| Okay... found it! It was http://www.howtosellhosting.com/. I'm not sure how good it is or whatnot... and I am pretty sure it is free... you just have to scroll down quite a ways before you get to the download link

| Websites in those formats are almost always selling gimmicky products/services that promise unimaginable wealth, but have no content value.

| Yes, very true, thats why I couldn't comment on how good it actually is... but if I remember correctly... it is free, so I'm not really sure what the gimmick is.

| Well, I just downloaded it and am giving it a quick look. I'm surprised it's as good as it is. I was expecting pure garbage but there is some actual information in there. Anyone who has more than thought about how to spell webhost will know most everything in there, but for the complete newb it is worth reading. Just ignore the suggested hosts for the most part - for example they suggest serverpronto as a dedicated provider. I suspect they're making money off of referrals and he suggests the reader do as much so I see no reason they wouldn't. But with affiliate/referral sales comes biased reviews and reccomendations. So ignore them, and come back to WHT to research any potential host.

| I wish I knew about these reseller guides when I got my first account in 2002. I learned by browsing the WHT forum for hundreds of hours and taking notes. By learning from other peoples experiences you quickly learn what works and what needs some fine tuning.
