resellerzoom failover (cluster) reseller plan? Anyone using it?

Posted by bwb, 11-10-2006, 04:14 PM
Hey is anyone already using resellerzoom's cluster reseller hosting? I would really like to hear about it and how its working and if anyone has seen 1 server go down and the next come up?

I saw they were offering failover with clustered servers, I doubt they are in different DCs. This failover wont help you if the DC has an outage

Well ya of course , but will help in lots of other ways, i'm more interested in people that are using it and their thoughts...

Its too early to tell. I would give it 6 months before trying that out. Waiting for all the hiccups to come up before going in. However, I have been with them for two years ++ now. No major hiccups for me so far. Joshua

If it wasn't in the same DC, their costs would be out the roof. It's not cheap to replicate data continuously from one DC to another.

Not without some very long cables.

Since not many people here have try their new cluster reseller plan. Why don't you try yourself within money back guarantee?

It looks like the "advanced reseller package" have been replaced with this failover package. So does that mean that the current customers will be converted ? Hans

I don't think current customers are being converted. You have to still upgrade your plan in order to be moved onto the failover hosting. I'm saying this because it was the same with my HostingZoom shared account.

Sounds interesting, I hope someone can provide a review soon.

I am going to signup with HostingZoom's failover plan to test the whole thing (I will put several domains) and if all go well I will signup for Reseller plans.

Hey guys, Just wanted to let you know that I'm an existing customer with ResellerZoom and couldn't be happier. Because 90% of my clients are public safety agencies, I needed to switch over to the Failover because of the "mission critical" websites that we support. With that being said, this is what they are doing. IF you were an existing customer, you could stay with whatever plan you were on and that was it. If you are a new customer, you can only sign up with the offers they have on the site. Now, if you are an existing customer who wants failover, you activate a new failover account (while still using the older plans). They transfer the files for you, then deactivate your "older" account once everything is up and running. The only difference is I was getting 10000mb and now only get 8000mb with the $39.99 a month plan. Their tech support is quick and ALWAYS there. Sales and Customer Service only answer during weekdays and sometimes it's a problem as that's the division that handles your transfers. Mike www.PublicSafetyHosting.com
