Where is LIGHTI.NET

Posted by cartooner, 05-19-2008, 01:57 PM
I have a forum , 2 imagehosting sites and 2 web-sites. I had leased a dedicated server with a company called Lighti.Net owner was Steve Linzey. Thursday out of the blue the sites are down. No big deal, things happen. I understand. I've been in this over 3 three years. I called Steve and he assured me it was a widespread outage in Dallas where the data center is. It was affecting many companies not just Lighti.Net. Today is Monday, still nothing. My sites are down, his voicemail has been out of commission since Friday, emails bounce back and haven’t heard a thing from him. Plus his site is also unavailable. I like to think the best of people and hope there's some reason he hasn't called since Thursday, but I fear the worst and that I'll never hear from him again. All my members files are on his servers, we all are going to lose alot if I can't get to those servers. Is there any other of his customers out there who is dealing with the same thing?? I'm posting to as many Web Hosting forums, VB.Org where I first contacted him...plus now I have to look for a company to get me going again, from scratch if I don't get access to these files. Anyone help me??

I got some info that is helpful, quite a bit is Pay For.. But I'll keep searching, posting and hoping other customers come forward. If he is legit he should let all of his customers know what is going on, not just let them sit for days. If any of his customers see this please reply.

I did find out that there was no widespread outage in Dallas that day.

..or any day recently. or at the Datacenter he was at.

Ouch. I would continue digging to ascertain the status of your service. The least he could do would be to let you know he was shuttering up the "store". Keep us all posted! -fin Thales

I havn't heard anything. I've come to the conclusion that I won't and had to find a new dedicated server company to host with. I'll have to start from scratch. Not only did I host a Vbulletin forum but I had 2 Image Hosting sites. Everything is gone. Images, posts, all the time and effort...and not a word from this person. I've sent emails and they get bounced back. The next step is filing a complaint with my state and also Better Business Bureau. I just wish I knew how many customers he had and that they'd come forward.

If they are gone I don't think the BBB can help you. They try to resolve things. If they can't get a hold of anyone they can't do anything but put a report on their website. And if they aren't doing bussiness that won't effect them. IDK just what i was thinking, tyring to save you time.

If anyone can find out where this company is located pls let me know. I know it is in Florida but not sure where. Yes, it is hard to believe that Steve would pick up and leave with no notice what so ever. I have/had four sites there paid for 4 years and out of teh blue; lighti.net wont even pick up there 800 phone number.

Got the address of 2000 Lady Ave. Ocoee Fl 34761. I will start to send letters if I get no return I will have a investagator visit him, before filing anything with teh courts. Dont bother with the BBB Lighti Networks, LLC is not listed anywhere. If he is a phony by god he got me good.

I had a site hosted with readytohost.net which where owned by Lighti. It went down without warning and hasnt come back up for over a week now! I could do with getting my files back, even if the sites arent gunna come back online... that'll teach me to not make regular backups

Good luck. The persons or company are no where to be found. Another one bites the dust.

Yeah... they were in business for quite a while... Ironic your name being kayakstudio... it was a kayaking related website i had been building for my club.

That is ironic. I actually couldn't think of a handle for myself for a while. I looked over and saw an old HP Kayak workstation and just took the name.

Thats true, if they can't find him it's useless. What about a state consumer agency??

I only had one dedicated server, but two forums, and 3 sites.

I know this cretin. He has bragged that he used the proceeds from working with this defunct company to buy his first home. You can contact him at CrazyAmerica.net which he also started. He's also a regular poster at BearPit political forum. He denies any responsibility for what happened to this company.

Has anyone that got cheated by this company tried to contact StevenL yet?
