If you are on cpanel .. go for csf

If you use WHM and CPanel, then CSF will provide you with a graphical interface via a WHM plugin. It also provides you with some of the best advice you can find anywhere on the proper methods with which you should harden your server.

CSF is more intuitive and more actively developed/updated. Do not use both.

Most people will tell you CSF, this has not changed for years and I agree.

I have never used anything other than CSF. But I think CSF is better than APF. Easy interface in WHM. Easy updates

I would say CSF. CSF says not to have either APF or BFD installed at the same time.
