Posted by ttgt, 04-11-2012, 01:22 PM Hi, i want to let 3 or more servers to offer service from all the connection, all the connections will be average to all the servers, if one server fail,all the connections will average to other working servers, after the server live,it will been added into average the connections. for this purpose,i need cluster or load balance ? thanx
Posted by UNIXy, 04-11-2012, 01:31 PM A cluster is a group of machines working together in concert to complete a particular task or tasks. It's generic and doesn't reveal the underlying technology. You don't need to know anything about clustering to load balance traffic. I don't know the specifics of your app but you're probably looking at a load balancer that can do round robin across your set of servers and has self healing capabilities.
