Ports problems.

Hi WHT. I have a few problems with some tricky ports, they open when something happens on the line but automaticly close afterwards (and open again if needed of course), but is there any way around this to make them constantly open? I am not sure if this is something all hosts do or only mine (hetzner, or at least a reseller of hetzner). CSS servers seems to want opened ports 24/7 to show my servers in their master list, and this is pretty much needed to get players on it. Thank you. Forget to mention, im running windows. I don't know much about CSS, but is it running on XAMPP server? If so and IIS is also running that may be the problem since both Apache and IIS use port 80 by default. If you don't need IIS you can disable it. Or you can change the port Apache uses to something like 8080.

Apologize collabory, i forgot i was on a server forum and not a game forum. With CSS i mean Counter-strike source wich run on port 27015, 27005, 27020 (at least if they are aviable). I dont use either apache or XAMPP here, its just a game client, and as i said every port i use is open, when its getting data through the port, but as soon no data is flowing the port close wich steam for some reason realy dont like.

I am stuck now haha. Here is a tool that might help you figure out what is going on: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s...rnals/bb897437

Thank you, i will try to take a look and see if its something on the server wich do it (i dont think it is as i tried with linux as well) or hetzner´s network. And return with results of course if someone is interrested.

Okey, it seems like the ports i want open is created in the tool but simply not listening/or estabilished, they seems to not do anything at all at the moment, wierd, any idea on how to make them listen instead of doing nothing?

If you see them they are at least listening. Check the port forwarding in your router.
