EuroVPS: Reviews?
Posted by coume, 03-29-2007, 04:07 PM |
Hello,
I am planning to move my websites to a new hosting company as my current host is starting to struggle... I was thinking of going for a VPS but as my current job takes me lots of time so I believe that a Reseller account fully managed for me will suit me needs better
I've read lots of good review about EuroVPS for their VPS packages but what about their resellers packages? They offer dedicated mysql server and redundant dns / mx backup server etc. which makes them very appealing to me, but I'd love to hear some feedback from current customer on their reseller package.
How is their uptime? What about the server loads, etc?
Any comments will be more than welcome!
Thanks
Ludo

Love it. The sites are always up. Servers run well. I work full-time too, and that keeps me busy, no time for hosting snafus. Using EuroVPS has been a blessing, as their stuff simply works, and the staff knows what they're doing. CanadaVPS is another option, same company, if you want North American servers.
My only advice is, if you use PHP scripts, to keep them updated. They don't like it when somebody runs a really old and vunerable/unsafe script. I don't blame them.

Thank you very much for the review It is what I was hoping to hear
What would they do in that case? Do they warn you and ask you upgrade your php script? or do they simply shut your site down???
Thanks

My review wasn't long, but glad it helped. When you have nothing bad to say, reviews tend to be pretty short!
They'll e-mail everybody a generic warning to fix their scripts. A while back they sent a warning that you had like 48 hours to upgrade Wordpress on shared, and a week on VPS ... or something that effect. It seems fair to me. I don't use Wordpress, so I didn't pay too much attention to it. As far as what happens after the warning time, I really don't know. They're not mean people, so I imagine they'd safely shut something down, make it inactive in Plesk maybe. You'd really want to ask them for exact procedures.
