HELP!!! dns configure of cpanel/whm
Posted by stbos, 08-22-2012, 01:24 PM |
hi,
i have been struggling 3 days to bring my first cpanel/whm dedicated sever up, still no luck.
this is dedicated server with cpanel/whm. new installation, set name server and domain name but domain name can not be resolved.
1. subscribed dedicated server and static ips
os: centos 6.4/
cpanel/whm
5 static ip: xx.xx.xx.10-14
2. configured cpanel/whm host,
host.abc.com/ip xx.xx.xx.10
assigned ip xx.xx.xx.10 to ns1.abc.com
assigned ip xx.xx.xx.11 to ns2.abc.com
3. registered domain: abc.com
registered name server:
ns1.abc.com => xx.xx.xx.10
ns2.abc.com => xx.xx.xx.11
4. set name server of abc.com as
ns1.abc.com
ns2.abc.com
5. registered domain: xyz.com and set name server for xyz.com as
ns1.abc.com / ns2.abc.com
it just works find for xyz.com but does not work for abc.com
dig abc.com
nslookup abc.com
can not resolve the ip.
1. can we have this kind of setup? mean name servers and domain name all in same domain?
2. is anything conflict for dns zone file for ns1.abc.com, ns2.abc.com and abc.com?
3. how to trouble shoot this problem?
thank you in advance

Did you add A records for 'ns1' and 'ns2' in WHM using the IP addresses you used for the nameserver setup with the registrar?
