Hello, i just purchased reseller hosting from a small hosting company that offered a lot of space for a minimum price, although the support turns out to be terrible. I am trying to set up nameservers for the site because WHM will not let me create accounts without them setup. I have setup my nameservers with the domain register place, although it says i need to configure them to my server settings. In my WHM there is nothing under 'sever configuration'. at first i thought it was my WHM although the demo on cPanel.net doesn't have one either. How do i set these up? Also - is there a free autohosting script available to download somewhere because my hosting provider does not supply one. Thanks, Vijay Pather

Create zones for the nameservers from the WHM --> Add a zone file with appropriate IPs and supply that nameservers in the WHM --> Basic Setup area.

Honestly, these are questions you should ask your host. If your host will not support you, then it is time to find another provider

They should be able to setup the nameservers for you. If they are willing to set them up, then you should find somebody else. On top of that, if they don't know how to set them up, then you would be much better off elsewhere.

Your hosting provider must be create your private name servers and must notify them to you(if they provide it). Then you'll register them by your domain registrar. Visit http://www.zubrag.com/scripts/create...hm-account.php for free cPanel/WHM Account Creator script. Good luck.

My host has setup the nameservers although i get a very strange message everytime i try to run an automated webhosting script provided by my host: Warning: main() [function.main]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Accounting.php.inc) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/vpather:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp) in /home/vpather/public_html/billing/install/index.php on line 732 then a few strange lines under it. my host doesn't really know what is happening so can anyone here suggest something? This is because open_basedir restriction is enabled in your account. You need to tell them to disable it for your domain. Net

Most hosts will have open_basedir restriction, but if you request they will add the directory that you want to the list of allowed directories. You can't get it done with out their assistance as this is a configuration setting in apache. Also, when you find hosts, keep in mind that you will get for what you pay.

If your host doesn't know what's going on with that error I really suggest you start looking for a host that does.

Looks like the OP is not so willing to invest more. First line reads: lot of space for a minimum price. Like mentioned - you get what you pay for. And don't expect to use all the space available to you

To properly setup nameservers you really need to modify the zone file. Most hosts will do this for you, it takes less then 2 mins for the host to do this. WHM might allow you to edit most of the zone file but you need to add A records for the nameserver IP's, add NS records for the nameserver names, modify the SOA and expirery, add some mail records and a few other tweeks. Hope this helps, DNS is not something you learn overnight, takes experience.

btw, you can put the Accounting.php in your root directory and you will not have to link to the cpanel library. I've done this not long ago for a multi server suspend script, kinda easy to use. Again, if you need help I do not mind helping just ping me.
