help for kernel update

hi, i use CENTOS 5.8 x86_64 vmware on cpanel show that my kernel version is : Kernel version 2.6.18-308.13.1.el5 is it old? how i can update kernel? please help me tnx

You can directly update kernel via yum using following command as root: yum update kernel Make sure you take complete backup before you update kernel. If you have managed VPS then ask your VPS provider to do this for you.

Sorry. I did not realize before. Yes, it is a latest kernel which you are using. There is no need to update.
