Just visited http://www.joesdatacenter.com and it appears their website as well as my server is currently down.

Scheduled power maintenance supposed to be for 30 minutes but it is now 1 hour. I also got notice about the power maintenance from Wholesale Internet and Virpus but both servers there is online throughout the maintenance.

My question is why did it even go down to begin with? I have a virpus vps as well and it seems that it stayed online throughout this power maint. window.

According to the joe cam 2 guys are working to resolve the issues now. My servers uptime is 24 minutes and was 8 hours

My server is still down.
The servers are down because their UPS cannot power the servers for 30 minutes - 1 hour. This was what they said in the emergency maintenance email. While Wholesale Internet and Virpus have no problem with the UPS, my servers and VPS with them have been online throughout the entire maintenance period.

An email was sent out to all customers. Read your email and that will tell you why they powered everything off.

I regret to inform you that we have scheduled an outage for 03-2-2011 at 7:00PM Central time. The building just informed us that there is a problem with the power coming into the building. Both electricians they hired and Kansas City power and light said it cannot wait to be fixed and requires the power to the entire building to be taken down. They said the power outage should last 30 min which is longer than the UPS can hold so we are asking all customers to shut down your equipment at 6:45 - 6:50 anything left on after this we will shut down by our staff as gracefully as possible. As soon as power has been restored we will start turning all equipment back on. We have asked all our staff members to come in and help during this time so we should be able to have everything powered back up quickly. I understand that this is short notice but under these circumstances this was the best we could do. We appreciate your business and thank you for being a Joe's Datacenter customer.

I didn't receive an email from joes or virpus. I did receive a warning to the power problem a day ago. I wouldn't expect the batteries to hold for anything longer than enough time to transfer to a generator.

The power outage scheduled, to my knowledge should of ended by now. Our servers are hosted in the same building "Oak Tower".
