It's working fine before. Now it's crash. The load is only 1.2% CPU the last time I check. How do I check? Where can I see crash logs, etc.

You can check following logs: /var/log/messages /var/log/syslog /var/log/debug /var/log/kern.log

Open SSH and run top -c command and see which process is consuming more CPU power and also check mail queue logs and see if it is normal.

You can try plugin monitor to the server to check the last error message before you reboot the server. Or you can check the log as advised by Bestserversupport. Besides that, you can check the root cause of high load by running top -c command in your server or you should try to dig out the problem fom daily process in WHM.

you need to do some of following things 1. update security patches 2. check log @ /var/log 3. try fschk for check errors

Or you know, the obvious choice: Hire a sys admin because it doesn't appear that you have much idea of what you are doing.

how do I check /var/log? I suppose I'll just ftp as root. However, I can't do that. That option is disabled some where I think. So how do I move files around in linux.

just try once in filezilla user : root password : your password port : 22 may be you can login via sftp , just try it.

No. I can't login as root. I can login as others but it doesn't give me access to /var

Ah I'll just telnet copy the log to a directory I can access. I wonder how whm doesn't have this functionality.
