Asking for advices on how to hardening a LINUX VPS

I would like to open a discussion about security " securing a LINUX VPS " to be more accurate, for sure this is very typically here. On the other hand I did not find what I was looking for, and I think this could be useful for me as for others, if we all collaborate posting experiences , tips, links or whatever. Of course as is usual here... Thanks to all of you in advanced :-) First I will draw (describe) a bit about the environment and my special needs, that might be similar to other users or people that starts this kind of business. My need: This is simple, I have a couple of years managing Linux servers, and I do not want to be a reseller, whats more I will enjoy a lot managing a VPS hosting. I have 10 account to host, so I need to build a server with apache, php, mysql and obviously email. I have done all this with out matters. You can laugh about this :-) but I am really afraid of not being allowed to solve a security or hacking issue. I planned a backup plan and all that, snapshots etc... but I thought here we can discuss the problem and some can help me with some advices. My choice was a Linux VPS, particularly a CentOS one. GENERAL QUESTIONS: How to hardening a VPS LINUX server ? I will be exposing, apache, postfix, dovecot, mysql and the ISPCONFIG 3 panel, ssh too, but just for administration. What to have in mind, what it's the most risky service, what to look for? Which tools are better. Common issues or experiences and it solutions are welcome :-) Please have in mind I am new in security, exposing full time a server with all this services, but not in Linux / Unix, and I have a minimal of commons knowledge so I change all the default ports, I am using the Linux firewall (basic rules) and applying strong passwords. I am also using Fail2Ban. Again THANKS to all of you !!!
