For Installing SSL certificate for a domain you will be needing a dedicated IP for that domain.

Are you just working on your post count? You can create private nameservers without dedicated IP's. Nameservers can be shared either way. Don't have to have reverse DNS to do it, therefore you don't have to have dedicated IP's.
And yes: dedicated IP is normally used for SSL certificates, reverse DNS (example: MX entries), or SEO purposes.

if you are using a control panel it is easier, especially in regards to shared hosting.
SSL
Dedicated IP to site
rDNS
custom private nameservers (with your own dedicated IP rather than shared)
Hope it helps.

a proxy is meant to allow to you to browse the web as the server IP instead of your home IP.

that should be the case if your proxy works properly although there are ways for people to see through proxy IPs but not everyone has that

You can use to SSL.
you can install 1 certificate SSL, you can create 1 with OpenSSL.
other thing : use for wildcard subdomain or redirection with scripts(php, etc)

no i'm not i mean if (in the default) your provider allow you to create private nameserver from their shared ip, and then (if) you purchase 1 dedicated ip, you can create more private nameserver with the different ip, so if someone cannot access your website from the shared ip (ex: your isp block the ip), it still can be access because you have another ip, and i'm agree that dedicated ip can be use for SEO purpose, sometimes when you're in the shared ip with other site that maybe a hate or a spam or an illegal site, you'll be block by search engine because your ip's shared with those site, cmiiw
