New to reselling. Just have a question on billing :)
Posted by mag9, 10-29-2009, 12:47 PM |
hello there,
I have a few clients that i would like to resell hosting to but i thought(for some reason) that i would be able to bill them through cpanel itself. After going through cpanel This doesn't seem like case! So i was wondering, How do you guys go about billing clients? Just direct debits?
Thanks for any advice!

cPanel itself does not provide a billing system. I highly recommend you look into WHMCS or ClientExec. They provide modules for cPanel/WHM so that it can automatically provision accounts and it provides a fully functional billing and invoicing system for you to manage your clients.

There are many billing systems you can use. Some resellers offer free ones so check with your current host. There is Client Exec, WHMCS, and many others. Personally I like WHMCS the best!

I've used both WHMCS and ClientExec, I like them both. WHMCS is definitely a front runner in my opinion.

Sounds like WHMCS will probably be your best bet. Check out this thread from not too long ago http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...ighlight=whmcs hope this helps!

Try to get the WHMCS license via your hosting provider if possible, as it will typically be cheaper (as a reseller of WHMCS, they get a discount which they typically pass on to their customers).

WHMCS and ClientExec are both great products.
I would also suggest looking at awbs.com

WHMCS would be my choice. It is easy to use, powerful and the license is relatively inexpensive.

I would also recommend WHMCS, if you find a good reseller plan you might even get it for free or for small monthly fee.

This is your answer answer. I would suggest WHMCS over clientexec anyday.

If you are looking for a reseller hosting plan then I would suggest finding a provider who also offers a free license for WHMCS or some other billing system with purchase of their reseller as a lot of hosts do now.

cPanel does not offer a billing solution at present. There are many systems you can use, AWBS and WHMCS which you do have to pay for but it is well worth the money.
Some hosts give you a licence with their plans. Try and find these.

WHMCS for sure. I tried ClientExec for about 2 weeks and really didn't care for it. Changed to WHMCS and couldn't be happier.

I believe that you can get phpcoin through the Fantastico panel. It is a free program and was originally created to be geared toward the hosting industry.

Another vote for WHMCS (after extensive production use of Modernbill, AWBS, and Platypus). Try the free trial. Also, some reseller providers offer WHMCS and other products as part of their packages.

Some webhost do not have phpcoin included in their Fantastico panel, you can download from phpcoin website.
You can try their demo site before installing @ http://cpdemo.phpcoin.com/
