I don't know if anyone will give you a trial; but many companies offer a money back guarantee. You could also look for a special where the 1st month is available at a reduced cost.

I have seen companies that offer a 15, 30, or 45 day money back guarantee. I am not sure you will find a host that will give you a month free unless you happen to find someone who is having a special to try them out. Check out the offers section and then search on WHT for reviews. Make sure you do your research and hopefully you can find a company your happy with and you won't have to move sites from host to host to host. If you narrow your list down to a few possibilities you can always post asking specific questions you have.

Sounds like you should look for a reseller plan that not only has a money back guarantee, but one that allows you to create custom plans of your own.

Off course, I need custom plans. Perhaps, VPS will be a better option. What do you suggest?

VPS would certainly be an option, it'll cost more each month, but give you the most control. There are reseller plans out there that will allow you to create your own hosting plans that you offer to your customers, without the need for VPS. What is your monthly budget?

A VPS will give you more control over your accounts.

Hosts rarely offer a free trial these days. One that does would be Jodohost: http://www.jodohost.com/faq.asp#trial. I don't know any details about it, other than it lasting for 7 days.

not sure if the OP's level of expertise will allow him to manage a vps properly since he has been using Resellerclub's package to resell. I could be wrong.
You could start off with a host offering cPanel/whm where you can easily set your own packages and pricing with your own billing software - it's the step right before VPS and it's easier to upgrade to a VPS when you need it - and it'll help you save money as well in the long run.
As for the trial portion, I find everyone else's comments are very fitting.

Some hosts will allow you a trial month for a fraction of the normal cost.

Do yourself a favor - save your $20 and sign-up with netearthone.com - I did and you do not need any money up front, they have a 100% Free White Label Reseller program with built in billing system, the lowest costs to resell I have seen for the value and instant sign-up

I have tried hostnine a year back. It has too much downtime. I am not sure of current status.

why don't you try small time hosting such as rewindd.net
|

I am currently with rewindd.net and have been experiencig a decent amount of downtime. As I type this my main site is still down. But I will say this when they work they exceed expectations of what you would expect for a budget web host provider.
If your on a budget and dont mind your site being down for a few hours at a time I reccomend Rewindd.net.

You don't need a VPS to get custom plans; if you're looking at reseller accounts, then you probably want the management of the server, etc. to be handled by your host, correct? Well, unless you get a managed VPS, then you would have to do this the server management yourself.
Just do some research on your hosts, figure out who you think is a good fit and take them up on any money back guarantee should the service not be a good fit after all.

Most reseller plans will allow you to create your own packages and most companies will give you a money back guarantee.
Check out the offers section and take a look at some of the companies - check their reviews etc. and check with them to make sure they will honor their money back.
Make sure you do this within the first 30 days if you are paying with paypal however as it means you can make a claim if they refuse.

I have got a free trial from HostGator. Their support and servers seem to be quite good. I am also wishing to try HostNine but they don't offer free trial. Perhaps, I'll pay them for a month to check their servers. Their packages are attractive. I also tried to made an order with WestNIC.NET but they were unable to create my account even after 11 hours of placing the order. Meanwhile, I got no update. On their website, they state that they create the reseller accounts within 60 minutes. When I told this to the Online Support Person, he told me, it's a lie (despite being an employee of the company)...lolz! I placed a call to them and they told that they were unable to create an account with support for .pk domain. I was unable to convey them that they were not involved in any technical issue with the domain name rather I was managing it myself and I needed to update the nameservers only. I tried my best to let them know that there is no difficulty in it, but they continuously told me that they can't create this account because system is not supporting it. It was very funny.
Anyhow, hostgator is working very good until now while its third day. I got the account setup within 2 minutes. I talked to their online support team many times and they were able to resolve all the issues in minutes. However, they don't allow overselling but I need it. So, I will try HostNine.
