Any resellers offer private label hosting-reliable?

Posted by talkhostrunner, 01-06-2010, 04:04 PM
Any hosts out there have a good reseller hosting plan set up where I could sell your plans, and you would handle everything else? So basically I get the orders under my brand name, but you do every single thing on the back end including server maintenance, help desk support, billing, etc? Anyone have a solid model in place that works?

Would you be looking to answer support queries and bill your customers? If not, then an affiliate scheme is probably more suitable. Regards, Jacob

Hi I too would recommend an affiliate account!

I think Innohosting handles everything except billing your clients including end-user support.

EZPZ Hosting can handle your tickets upon request but not live chat.

It indeed sounds like Godaddy's reseller programs would be a good fit for your needs. There is a $99-200 per year fee there though (depending on the reseller program you choose), and if that's too much for you, then Resellerspanel would be a competitor of theirs with a much lower barrier of entry.

If you want the host to handle billing then you should really look into being an affiliate instead. As for being a reseller the most cost effective and best solution in my opinion is to use a cPanel Reseller account and WHMCS as your billing and support system. You can automate pretty much everything. You'd be responsible for managing WHMCS to bill and provide first level of support to your customers but that is the most solid solution if you are just starting out in private label reselling. You could always outsource your support and billing to Server Admin Support services like http://seeksadmin.com/outsourced.html Enom has reseller solutions too but require you to handle first level support just like most reseller packages do.

As others have said, reselling isn't what you're describing. An affiliate type of program is what you're looking for, or you could just become a sales rep for a hosting company. What is the point of building a brand if you don't want to get your hands dirty? This is not a criticism, but just a question.

Agreed. Here's my dream situation which I predict will never happen. A reputable and established web host which offers a good value and recurring affiliate incentives. I'm tired of one time affiliate payments. I want the gift that keeps on giving. If such a web host existed, I could easily refer a few dozen new clients their way.

Now that could be a real ticket to retire early.

RossMan asked for the dream. I tried giving it to him but he said no thanks. and then quoted me the rules. I was just telling him that is what we are offering.

Wouldn't that be nice? There was once a shared web host who offered recurring 10% affiliate payments. To my surprise they actually paid them, for about 1.5 years. Ever since then I've preferred recurring affiliate payments, the gift that keeps on giving. Why the affiliate payments stopped is still a mystery to me, it was only around $75/mo so I didn't really pursue it. IIRC they had a change in management structure.

Thanks for the posts all. I am basically looking to build a brand, but have all of the server work done so I can concentrate on building the business, and not get involved with the technical end. So I'm looking for a place where I can create the website, post up the offerings, and then push the product. I realize affiliate marketing is ideal, but I want to build a brand around it and don't want to have a bunch of companies listed, instead I want the same provider with different offerings. GoDaddy's hosting is sub-par in my book, I'd rather push a Cpanel/Plesk or a mainstream control panel, instead of one of those in-house built ones where they charge for every single little thing. Any hosts out there, or someone have a reliable business want to partner up?

www.innohosting.com www.ezpzhosting.co.uk Both of those companies offer Reseller accounts that include WHMCS or Clientexec and both offer end user support. This would allow you to simply focus on building your brand. Best of luck. I've never used either but I think they could prove quite valuable to you.

I've dealt with Rameen from InnoHosting before with previous projects that have been outsourced. He's great to work with and I don't think you can go wrong with IH. Give them a shot, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

InnoHosting sounds like they have a good thing going, I will look further, thanks for the suggestions.
