New Reseller Registar Question

Posted by hand, 01-14-2010, 07:35 PM
I just recently setup a new hosting website. I am planning on using ENOM for my domain name registrations etc and have a reseller account thru them. But, now I'm thinking do I really even need to provide domain name registrations for people? Guess I'm wondering if most thing it is necessary or not. Thks

Yes, it is still required and a good additional service.

Not necessary, they can register it elsewhere and still use it with your host.

I know they can register elsewhere just seems kind of wierd to say "we provide hosting" and by the way go "here" or wherever to register your domain name and then we will provide the hosting. I don't know...Figure ENOM have to deposit $100 to start with and just trying to decide if I want to or not.

Providing domain registration is a good option though not necessary. Though there are other options too besides Enom where you can get free domain reseller account. But you do have to have some funds in your account to book domains.

My enom reseller was free to start with but I have to put the $100 in there to have funds available also.

If you are doing it right, domains can bring in a decent profit. And if you are doing it right $100 will be consumed quite fast.

I agree with this.

Yes, without domain registration you lose lots of clients. For free use NetEarthOne or Name, namecheap, etc.

So signup for those are free? and do you have to deposit $100 or something in them to get started like ENOM? Thks

Most of the domain reseller programs allow you to signup for free. Some need more deposits, some need less, but that deposits are funds in your account that goes towards domain registration. But you have to have money in your account to book domains.
