Questions Regarding HostGator Reseller Package
Posted by Somer, 08-06-2010, 04:31 AM |
I Was looking forward to go with HostGator Starter(Aluminium) Reseller Package
which says....
Each reseller account comes with...
* UNLIMITED Domains
* UNLIMITED Sub Domains
* UNLIMITED Email Accounts
* UNLIMITED cPanels
* UNLIMITED FTP Accounts
* FREE Site Builder Software
* PRIVATE Name Servers ........ etc
This would be my first Reseller Account to go with .
So i wondering "what does Unlimited Domains Stand For ? ".
Does it mean i can create ~ Unlimited Domains for my own as long as iam with HostGator .
Say ... xyz.com, xyz1.com , xyz3, ...... xyz1000.com ...
I know it might sound a little silly , but i just wanted to make sure before i end up having any problems.
My Usage & Requirments
1. Its primarily for a group of friends who would like to own a Domain for fancy reasons i would say like KevinSmith.com , JamesPeterson.com ...etc , with email as well Contact@*name*.com
2.Looking for Support of WP Blogs with plugins that are more oriented towards Social Networking.
3.It's more like a Personal Blogs/Websites ... with no high requirements for Bandwidth
So my questions is can i create X numbers of domains that are currently available/Not Registered for all of my friends.
And also Can I Used a Pirated/Cracked Template for my Websites ? say a cracked Template from TemplateMonster.com
Your Input would be highly appreciated .. Thank You

Unlimited domains basically means that you can host an infinite number of domains, you will still have to purchase the domains you want to host though.
You definitely cannot use pirated / cracked templates or software, nearly all hosts will suspend or terminate you if they find you using pirated stuff.
Apart from that HostGator should be find for what you need! =)

Most reseler hostings allow to host unlimited domains theoretically. But reseller hosting providers generally allow to host under 100 domains max.

It sounds like HG meets all of your requirements - do they fall within your budget too?

For domains I personally use namecheap. They have treated me well these years.

Are you sure you meant domains and not end user accounts? I would find it rather ridiculous to use that as the metric for what is too much.
There will obviously be a limit to anything, but I should imagine it would not be as random as 100 end user accounts, and it would somehow be more objective. The trouble would come with too many small files to host, perhaps even too many domains being hosted.
I've used namecheap.com for years now. Do look for coupons of theirs. They can help you save a buck for new domains and transfers.
