Backup any essential data on your system, including any website files and so on, then format your system and re-install the OS.
Then, restore your site from the backup you had on your system.
Otherwise, if you had no backups, get cleaning them by hand.

All my sites are also affected.
Really bad server security. RW is totally useless.

Have you tried contacting them about this? They may be able to run a script to fix this for you. If not, you may wish to find a new hosting provider

Readywire used to be a good service. Now, they are one the worse. Support is gone, really. Been a long time since Rick went back in WHT just to respond. No updates or whatever. I used to be their loyal customer, until support went gone, and servers went bad.

Yep. My site was infected but it took them few days to restore it which was good.
I do agree. THEY USED TO BE GREAT! Now the support is gone, telephone no one picks up, live chat no one is EVEN there 100% of the time. Whats the point of having live chat on the website?!
They better act up! and clean any mess now.
Do anyone know if they are selling or some sort? Hopefully that isn't the case or if they are closing down.

It's too late for them to fix. Most of the customers were gone, and most, including me, will not come back hosting with them.

I have a soft spot for readywire. Rick and the gang really provided excellent support but started to go down a bumpy road during the summer of 2010.
I am really hoping that they are able to come back from this even stronger!

I am constantly amazed how WHT becomes seems to become the defacto help desk when customers have a problem.
In this case ReadyRick should just pay the ticketing system licence fee and let their customers send tickets instead on PMing in WHT.
I wish Readywire well in this situation.

Just found this thread.
Been two weeks now since I posted the first service ticket. (Google alerted me of the Malware). I cleaned up three sites my self. As mentioned earlier, the index files were altered. I also found a second file in the root folder named x(dot)htm, that just had the moron's name(?). Anyway 2 weeks and three tickets later, no response.....ReadyRick are you in?
Been with them two years this month. Always had great service before now. If a little information or response had been made, a little more understand would be likely.
Anyway.......migration continues...

I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, I've been with them for two years and they were great until last October. They had some major downtime but then seemed to get their act back together.
I also had all of my sites hacked and flagged by Google. As well as one site that was no longer connecting to its database. Brandon helped me get 1 of them cleaned up and then stopped responding (there is still an open ticket in my account marked critical from Feb 19 that was my last ditch attempt 5 days after the hack to try to get help).
There is no mention of the October debacle or this latest one on their "support" blog. They are not responding - I would get your sites moved. I understand that businesses go under or have problems, and I'm a very loyal customer, but the handling of this shows exceedingly poor judgment, responsibility and work ethic.
I canceled my account today and requested a refund (I got a year renewal Feb 8 right before they were hacked!!). We'll see if they manage to respond to that. Otherwise, I'll have to contact my credit card company for the refund.

Sorry to hear your service went down, things happen and it seems like ReadyWire was hit with some large issues. I hope you get a refund for the service. Best of luck finding a new provider!

I do understand what you mean and my next invoice is coming up on april.
I'm already thinking of moving and Brandon still responds to my email but like few days after. He also did bring up about the hack attack yesterday to check up with me.
However, I am still waiting for a ANSWER regarding why the lack of support, where's Rick, whats happening with Readywire?
Readywire has been great for the past 2 years but its been sad to see them lacking right now. I'm assuming they don't really care much anymore, or is selling out or quitting the business?
But, yeah just like everyone I think its time to move to a new provider.

I put all my eggs into the ReadyWire basket and a large majority of them got crushed. The few clients I have left, I have moved them over onto a new host, WebTropia.
ReadyWire servers were recently hacked which caused all my client's websites to distribute malware. This killed a lot of the sites from Google. Not only that but it took days before ReadyWire noticed and I even had to ASK them to restore the accounts from backups. Even the restored backups contained malware so everything was f*****d! Are these people teenage amateurs?
ReadyWire is a terrible company and I would recommend you stay well away.

I also parted from them. Rick was helpful but not sure where he went?!
Did RW sell their company to another company/owner?
