Posted by damian5000, 11-10-2014, 05:59 AM I hope someone can help with this. Namecheap and Cloudflare have both been useless. When basic security is turned "essentially off", I get hundreds of errors from what looks like bots mostly looking for links at mysite.com instead of mysite.com/forum. Also legitimate links (with /forum) It clogs the resources multiple times per day. Those errors look something like this: If I turn basic security "low" or any other setting, the resource problems go away immediatly, but I get hundreds of recaptcha api errors. Those errors look like this: My main concern here... Are users being issued the recaptcha challenge properly, or getting bounced to some 404 neverland? I have no idea how to "trigger" the recaptcha to see if it's being displayed properly. I have asked both Cloudflare and Namecheap and no solution. Cloudflare more or less ignoring me. Namecheap not sure what to make of it. Any ideas appreciated. I'm on shared business class hosting.
Posted by Eased, 11-12-2014, 07:39 PM You should be able to verify recaptcha is working by logging out of your account and attempting to register a new account on your forum, assuming that recaptcha is displayed on the signup page.
Posted by Mad_matt, 11-12-2014, 08:18 PM This wont help you much but check out this: http://www.stopforumspam.com/ipcheck/74.91.23.52 http://www.stopforumspam.com/ipcheck/89.28.24.190 So you dont want those IP's accessing your system anyway. Most likely it is bots trying to spam your forums. Go through all the logs, google each IP and ban it if it comes up as a spammer.
