Hudson Valley Host server1 repair

Posted by ErnieQ, 03-11-2011, 06:49 PM
Last night we had replaced the ram in server1. This morning we noticed some issues with the server. The data center took a look at the server and thought it was a bad sata cable. This was replaced and the issue continued. Upon further testing they discovered the hard drive was beginning to fail. We decided to proceed with a hard drive replacement on server1. We do not believe any data has been lost and we also have backups in case any data issues. The hard drive replacement began at 330pm est and is estimated to take 4 to 5 hours per hostdime. At this time our billing system, email and main site are down due to this. If you do need to reach us please email us at hvhost@gmail.com. We sincerely apologize about this downtime. Thank You, Hudson Valley Host

Just an update the data transfer is about 50 percent complete. The data center told us its taking a bit longer then expected due to the hard drives poor condition. Again we apologize and will keep our customers updated.

We just got word that the server is backup and the data transfer is complete. We changed the nameservers back and are just waiting for them to propagate.
