New Reseller Account Payment Method
Posted by elsmore11, 09-29-2011, 11:10 AM |
Hi,
I am setting up a reseller account at moment and getting there slowly with little previous knowledge other than a bit of basic web design. I have some items set up such as domain names and buying web hosting but I am stuck when selecting payment methods. I am using a license on WHMCS and magaed to put in paypal but obviously would like to accept VISA etc as most people pay this way. The web hosting company I am with suggested a particular website "cashflows". Just wanted people advise as I dont want to pay lost when I may not recieve much sales, so what is the best way to start. I am using cpanel and WHMCS system.
thanks for any advice

If your just starting up I would suggest using Paypal standard to accept credit cards.
Apart from that, cashflows is a good merchant that I know many hosts use.

PayPal would be a great place to start. Also, I would have to recommend 2co.com. They have an excellent merchant services program over there.

Ok,
Is Paypal standard just paypal as I would use through ebay? Or is there payapl and paypal standard? I will contact the other companies to ask there opinion but certainly dont want to sign up to too much at first.
Thanks

I would suggest starting out with paypal as there is no sign up cost and from there work your way up to different merchant accounts.

There are 3 types of accounts. Paypal, Paypal standard and Paypal pro. I believe you would 1st need to upgrade your Paypal account to a business account, before being able to use credit card options.
Paypal
Normal Paypal account wont give your customers the option to pay by card. = Free option
Paypal standard
Paypal standard will redirect customers to the paypal web site, which it will give them the option to login to there paypal account or just pay by card.
Paypal pro
Paypal pro is pretty much the same as standard, but your customers wont get redirected to the Paypal web site and will remain on your site. But this comes at a fee...
You can view the differences with this link.

I cant remember in detail the process but hope that helps.

It would benefit you greatly to look at the options that you can get when you upgrade your Paypal account to a business account. That will make things a ton easier on you. They allow you to have a personal account and a business account, that is what I would suggest using.

1) How much (and what) verification is need when opening a paypal business account.
2) Are their fess the same amount for cards as they do for paying by paypal?
3) Are there any fees for currency conversions (I'm in the UK)

I´d recommend 2checkout
They take a one-time free and is really reliable and cheaper than others.

For you who are starting, PayPal is the best option. PayPal also accepts credit card.

Paypal would be great for you to start with for now and you can always add later on more options.

I don't if I don't understand you or you don't understand me. What I mean is , if someone pays by paypal they take part of the cash for fees. Are the fees the same amount for credit cards?
Are there any currency fees aswell?

PayPal is best for doing a Fraud and Scam(PayPal Fraud Inc.)

Rather than accepting credit cards directly, I suggest you to go for paypal as it is most used payment gateway. PP can also be integrated in whmcs and many more features.
After you are ok with PP then go for other payment gateways too.
