Juniper SRX240

Hello Guys, I'm looking forward to get a decent firewall for my company. Right now we have 3 server colocate in DC. We would like to have a firewall that will protect these servers and that will give us VPN access over IPSEC. I did some research but I can't find costs... I would like to know how much cost this firewall + what I have to get to make it work. I have a little experience with sonicwalls- and I know that for sonicwalls oh have to get licence for each service such as VPN, IDS, spam filter etc. How it's work with juniper? What can I do without licence? And how much cost annually basic licence for the juniper srx240 firewall. Thanks

The Juniper SRX 240 is a quality firewall and a lot of power for the price. So good choice on that. What are you currently using for a firewall in your environment if any? How many VPN licenses do you need? How much traffic are you going to push through the SRX in MB/s?

Hi, for the SRX firewall you do not need license for the following features: - site 2 site IPSEC VPN (policy & route based) - IDS ( aka screens in Juniper land) - bgp route reflector on srx 240 (need to doublecheck this) - BGP / OSPF or even MPLS if ran in packet mode. - security policies - whole range of vlans iirc You need license for Layer 7 services like IDP (Intrussion Detection and Prevention), Application firewall, SSL inspection, UTM. Make sure you acquire the 2GB RAM model especially if you want L7 inspection.
