Hostgator vs EZPZ Reseller hosting

Posted by lildevil07, 11-25-2012, 08:26 AM
Hi, I have been looking at the comparison between EZPZ and Hostgator reseller services. EZPZ Features User Friendly Support Domain and SSL Reseller accounts Merchant Account End User Support Maxmind Demowolf Videos Knowledge Base articles Legal Documents Free SSL Certificate Hostgator 24x7 Support but long waiting time 400+ Brandable Videos Domain Reseller only SSL Certificate - $50 for one year. These are some of the key differences and features. I was looking for people who have used both in the past and would like to share their comparison of both the hosts. I am not looking for any other recommendation please. Stick to EZPZ or HG. Which one would you choose and why?

Ezpz is better, because their support is superb and you can host big site on it . I have used hostgator reseller in past(two year ago) and when the site reach 1 or 2k pageview per day it get suspended.

It's been a while since I used HostGator, and I've never used EZPZ, but I'd say you'd get more personalized support with EZPZ as they're a much smaller provider!

I'd recommend EZPZ for best support and servers. For your information, Hostgator had been sold to Endurance International Group For $225M.

I do not like HostGator and have had bad experiences (I used to use their reseller hosting). So go for EZPZ!

EZPZ, in my opinion, is about a million billion times better than HostGator. Not only do they offer better features, but they offer better support and better price. Go for EZPZ!

Gonna go with EZPZ mostly, but lets wait for some more replies, I would also like to know that if Moolay is comparable to EZPZ? If anyone used both of them, please let me know which one is better. Mostly I will be going with EZPZ.

I used to be a HG reseller and it used to be great. Unfortunately when HG started selling unlimited packages on their shared accounts, the resellers were effected. Plus support started falling behind. Not sure if it's any better or worse since they have been sold. I don't know EZPZ, but I have seen more people recommend them. Study both of them, see if they have what you need, contact them and make your decision.

Lets wait for more replies...although 90% chance of going with EZPZ.

Hi lildevil, As a cardinal first rule, I would make sure you become VERY familiar with the providers. After all, they will be servicing your clients as if you were doing it yourself! So you must make sure they at least meet your own standards of business conduct. Anything less, and you risk losing client credibility! For budgeting, I would avoid purchasing based on "deals" alone and most definitely avoid a long-term prepayment with an unproven host. Only after your trust is earned should this come into the picture. But no sooner. Trust me on this one. Regarding specific choices, HG isn't stellar, but their shear size and age does lend them some credibility. One potential danger point is that they were just sold to EIG, so take that for whatever it's worth to their future stability. Moving on to the likes of "EZPZ" et. al, these smaller outfits are often hot topics of the moment, but mostly unproven over any significant amount of time. I often pit them against older, more established resellers, weighing perceived quality against cost. I mean, what's $10 more a month to your business's bottom line if it means no headaches and flawless performance, right?! So definitely add the following to your list: Site5, ASmallOrange, Cartika, FluidHosting and UnitedHosting One last addition: If you find yourself growing into reseller plans that approach the upper $xx/month, you might be better off going go a fully-managed VPS account with WHM/cPanel and billing added on, especially if you and/or your shared clients need more resources than shared hosting can accommodate. Definitely something to think about for the future! A good provider to start with there would be KnownHost. I hope my additions have been of some help to you! Good luck!

Ezpz is connsiderably better, mainly due to their support which is brilliant as well as the ability to be able to host larger sites on it!

You may get better value with HostGator, however the fact that EPZ offers end user support is invaluable...

I am already with EZPZ and they are much better than HG anyday

HostGator's the best. I've had an acc. with them before, good experiences.

EZPZ is smaller company then HG, so it will be better choice.

EZPZ would be a better choice. Anyway, let the poll results speak.

I have a regular account with HostGator and it is actually very good. Their customer service has been outstanding and they did tell me that they use different servers for their reseller accounts. Of all the "big" hosting companies out there, Host Gator is the only one that I would recommend.
