Bluewho wont cancel my account
Posted by skinhat, 03-06-2013, 07:04 PM |
I cancelled my account with the host Bluewho (bluewho.com) in January 2013 and received confirmation of the cancellation from support yet they have still billed me February and March. Luckily I am paying with Paypal and have just not payed those bills but am worried they will never stop billing me. My account has been suspended due to non payment but they continue to bill me. I have emailed bluewho support about the billing but they never reply.
The Bluewho website has no phone number and have only been able to contact them through there support email. Wondering what I should do.

I would suggest keeping a copy of your cancellation confirmation for your record, and keep emailing their Billing dept as proof that you already cancelled the service. Hopefully they will eventually write back and stop asking you for payment.
Were you able to get through them via "Live Support?" Chat? It's currently offline now but It may be worth the try.
Next time maybe try to look for a host that offers phone as means of communication. It's going to cost a few dollars more a month but it's better than the risk of being wrongly sent to collection's agency and potentially tarnish one's credit score. (worst case scenario that is)

This is ridiculous! I even have a response from billing that they would reverse the January charge! Never happened, billed February, and now March, too! WTF! Multiple requests to multiple tickets (copied to both support and billing) never responded to.
This company is done. If you haven't left yet, you are taking a high risk with your company's integrity by staying. But, good luck leaving without canceling your credit card on file.

I actually signed up with Bluewho in 2005 and they were highly recommended and had been a great service for many years. Looking at web.archive.org back in 2005 for bluewho I dont think they've ever had a phone number.

Makes me feel better that its not just me they're doing it too. Thank god I used paypal or I'd probably have to cancel my credit card.

Or file a chargeback on your card.

I don't think anyone else has suggested this yet but check PayPal subscriptions to see if you're still setup to send them a payment every month. If you are remove it so you don't keep sending them money every month.
It is really weird that they won't respond to your tickets at all. It doesn't look good for them either if you canceled but their book keeping is bad enough that they think you still have service with them.

Yes, I did cancel my Paypal subscription in January after I cancelled my bluewho account so bluewho have just sent me bills and I havent paid. I'm just worried they will never stop sending me bills.
From what tpro said in this thread its happened to other people too. I think bluewho might be having troubles.

As mentioned in other threads these problems are due to the sudden death of our billing manager in the holiday period. Tickets that were assigned to him in the busy new year period were missed for a period of time. All these tickets are remnants from Jan and latest Feb if you've noticed.
To the best of my knowledge, these issues are now resolved. Any refunds due will of course be honored and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
If anyone has billing questions from this time I urge you to open a fresh, new ticket and your issues will be resolved within 24 hours. Posting here without ticket numbers to follow up on does not help either party very much.
Skinhat, I appreciate your confirming that we have provided great service over many years. It is unfortunate that your cancellation request was not handled in a timely fashion due to the death of our billing manager, and I will welcome any opportunity to restore your confidence in our services.
Thanks.

Why they don't publish their company address, phone etc. on their web site? I don't think this is legal.

Our physical address is clearly listed in our terms of conditions and has been for years, as well as in paypal contact information and other areas. We have never claimed to provide phone support.
P.S. your website does not list a company phone and address

Further to my message above, I would like to add that I have no interest in participating in a thread that is quickly devolving into an immature troll fest. I have already explained that this was due to death of the person who handled all billing (yes, it happens to everyone) and there is no more to it than that. This affected some tickets in the month following his death (January) but to the best of my knowledge they have all now been resolved.
If by chance you still have a billing ticket that has been missed and you would genuinely like resolved, just open up a fresh ticket (billing@bluewho.com) and it will be sorted within 24 hours, guaranteed. If it's not, feel free to post again -- with your ticket number this time.

Our site is a division of our Hosting company. I cannot write it in here because of forum rules. But you can see the url on whois check(or payment page). If you look at our Hosting site when you can see our name, address, phone, company registered number etc. on the contact page. We don't hide them like you. You must write your name or company name, registered number, address, phone etc. on contact page.
