Hi everyone, I have a question and hope you guys can help:
Do I need or required to have a Dedicated IP and SSL with WHMCS, when using just only a Paypal gateway?
Thank you in advance.

The purpose of the SSL is to encrypt the communication between the user and the server hosting the whmcs. If you are going to receive personal information, personal is not just CC (which you are not receiving), then yeah , you need a dedicated ip and a SSL.
Reasons:
1- It is required for every ecommerce, even if you are using paypal, remember you are storing personal info such as name , address telphone , etc.
2- It shows that you care about your user privacy.
3- Is a standard practice.
Also consider a vps to improve privacy and security.

Its good to have. Pretty much HRR1963 nailed it. You should get one also heres a good piece of advice take your time. Also you should start with a server like a managed vps if you dont know linux command lines.

You don't have to do anything, but it's nice to show the customers you mean business.

No, but if you don't, it gives off the impression that you're company is being cheap and unprofessional.

It's not needed or required but you should consider using dedicated IP and SSL if budget allows.
SSL certificate is cheap these days.

To put good impression in users mind, it is necessary that you purchase SSL certificate especially for account information. Just set up one sub domain, install WHMCS in it and purchase one simple SSL certificate from reputed SSL provider.

Any website that collects personal data or is used to process payments has to have a SSL certificate. I'd say it should be a business validate SSL, no a regular one. DEdicated IP is a must to have a SSL installed.

This.
OP, just a regular 10 SSL certificate will no longer do if you are running a proper ecommerce business. You will need a business validated certificate (preferably EV SSL) to instil confidence in your customers.
This of course is not mandatory.

I couldn't imagine running WHMCS without SSL. All kinds of private data is stored and transmitted and you wouldn't want that sent in plain text. Never mind the ability for someone to sniff a password from a client if there is no SSL, then impersonate them, steal their files/account, etc. Bottom line: SSL is essentially required.

Its not a must needed thing but it is a must have inorder to show your clients you really care for their information.
Any type of site storing sensitive or valuable information should have an SSL installed. When a client sees that your using a SSL then it shows them how much your compamy is professional. Many web hosts to this date sone dont and some do use SSL it isnt anything that you must have to run a web hosting business.

Hi, I want to jump in here mainly about installing SSL certificates. I am correct in understanding that it must be done by the company you oder the hosting from. I have all these SSL certs from Namecheap, but I really am lacking when it comes to understanding how they are installed.
There are so many places offering reseller hosting (including Master Resellers) and I am not sure how the SSL installation procedures work. Also if you have more than one dedicated IP (lets say because you have a Master Reseller) how to get some of the domains - transferred to one of the other dedicated IP's.
I feel like I have been testing the Master Resellers for years (with my own domains and websites), but still do not have a clue!
