HostDime vs. Eleven2 vs. Site5

Posted by embsupafly, 11-27-2013, 04:45 PM
I am moving away from Hostgator and need a new reseller account. I've pretty much narrowed my choices down to these three hosts: 1. HostDime 2. Eleven2 3. Site5 They all seem to offer the right features and packages that suit my needs for my budget. My question is related to concerns I have for each of them based on reviews I have seen and feedback left for them here on WHT. 1. HostDime - They only have one US data center and it is in Florida. I am concerned about natural disasters. I also asked some questions on their live help/chat and they were really slow to respond between questions and answers, I had to wait on average 5 minutes to get an answer. They also do not offer guaranteed backups. They only do weekly backups and said I would have to figure out my own solution to backup resold accounts. They offer a remote storage service at an extra charge. A plus is that they will transfer all of your domains from the old provider, not just 20-25 of them. 2. Eleven2 - I have heard that their customer service is getting worse and that they used to be better in the past but things have been bad during the last year. I get the impression that they are a really small time outfit and I am just not sure about their reliability and response times. 3. Site5 - I am really impressed by them, but it seems they are very strict about resource limits and will force some resellers to move to a VPS. I like the fact that they want to ensure good service for everyone and isolate high resource users, but it seems scary that they are so obsessed with this. It seems they don't talk to resellers to work things out, they just make a decision and force the move. I've heard mixed things about their service. Can anyone address these concerns and/or share their experience in using the three hosts above? Thanks.

It is best to test them yourself.

I wouldn't think Eleven2 are a small time operation, they even have an iphone app which is quite an investment on their part, however I have looked into them and found similar reviews to yours stated above. I have heard good things about hostdime but have never used them my self so can't comment from personal experience.

We are by no means a small time operation. We have thousands of servers and host hundreds of thousands of websites. We are growing larger as every day passes by. In terms of our customer service, our current satisfaction rating for the month of November (based entirely on ratings received from customers on tickets and chats) is 95%. I think that speaks volumes in itself. Like any provider of our size, we do run into issues, but we have an awesome support team to help our customers out, and a great management team to back them up as well.

If I was in your shoes I'd go with Site5, I've not used them yet but they have a nice website, nice plans and costs and good support. But that's my opinion if I was looking for another host for a personal website. I've used FreshRostedHosting and I still do for a vps, love their service and support. I used to use CrocWeb, great support and service again, couldn't find any issues with them. Good luck on your search.

HostDime, They are top / best in that area. Go that way Skip Eleven2 they dont care. Unsatisfaction guaranteed.

All three are reputed providers. I don't think you should get into any issue with these providers. Search WHT for some recent reviews about these providers.

I've used both. Eleven2 is slightly less money than HostDime but HostDime's servers are slightly faster than Eleven2. We found support about the same between the two.

Care to elaborate? Did you actually use them?

I have only used Eleven2, I moved away from them because the server that I was on had frequent downtime, and I had the reseller plan with them. Their support was ok, nothing special in my opinion, but not the worst I have had. I have not hosted with either Hostdime or Site5, so I would look up some reviews on them.

Were there any specific issues that you were facing with HostGator?

Yes, their support has slowly become bad and now horrible. I had one ticket that took over 24 hours to respond and two more that have never been responded to (its been about 5 days now). It is insane that it has gotten to this point. They used to be fantastic, I now want to run away.

I'm really sorry to hear that. There seems to be lot of negative reviews about them since they were purchased by EIG

We have reseller accounts on Hostdime and Surpasshosting(same company). Their support is mostly fast. Uptime of the servers are good and they work stable, but a little slow(the reason can be location, I don't know). They charge $15 for each backup restore(but if you have a backup when restoration is free). Backups get daily and weekly. I am very glad from their chat support. You can doing most operation quickly.

I've used Site5 before and I didn't stay long I went to Namecheap I think I don't remember fully why, I've used Eleven2 they do care about support (well some operators do) they put the customer first not think they are right about everything and then when you file it up later you get it done straight away. It really depends where you're looking to get a server I have to say, The USA servers are better than the UK servers and you can ask to move to a different server if you are not happy with the speeds or issues with the current one your on.

Don't know anything about Eleven2, but Site5 and HostDime can not be compared. Site5 is more expensive, but it's an excellent well organized company/service for the price you pay.
