Private NS Queries
Posted by murtazaimran, 05-06-2014, 04:49 PM Hello Everyone, I just acquired a reseller hosting few weeks back just want to confirm if my setup is correct. For explanation i am using mydomain.com and hostingprovider.com I registered private NS (ns1.mydomain.com and ns2.mydomain.com) and set them up correctly with the registrar and whm. Also created A records for the NS on the main reseller cpanel(mydomain.com). All the accounts under reseller are pointing to ns1.mydomain.com etc which is correct. However.. Now what I want to ask is that the primary domain(mydomain.com) which i used to create the namservers is pointing to my private namservers (ns1.mydomain.com ns2.mydomain.com) Is this setup correct?? or should it point to the original NS which was ns1.hostingprovider.com ns2.hostingprovider.com ? Thanks
Posted by jrianto, 05-06-2014, 05:37 PM Your setup is already correct. That is the whole point so that you can use your own DNS servers for your own domain as well for your clients. All the best!
