1gb port is important.

Interesting. Watching this thread for more providers as the only providers that I know provide VPS in India (as in servers located in India) are Leapswitch and E2Enetworks ( I have not used any of them, so not sure if they are good or not) . Lets wait for other members to reply with their experiences.

Why don't you have a look at the offers section? No providers will post their own names in this section
Plus you can grab some better deals on the vps out there.

India loc can be expensive. What is your budget anyway?

Seconded. Quite sure there are many providers offering servers for Indian audience. Make sure you do your due diligence before choosing the right provider.

I've made a little Google search and I managed to find webhostingsindia.in. I've never used them and I can't say whether they are good or not. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I've used Leapswitch (Pune), Prometeus (colos with Leapswitch...I've had a small Xen VPS with them in this location for 2+ years), and HostVirtual (Chennai). Of those 3, Prometeus is no longer accepting new orders in Pune (or at least they no longer list the location on their order form), and HostVirtual is an excellent provider but they're more expensive than SoftLayer so they wouldn't fit the OP's needs.
Other providers are NetMagic (who I've heard good things about, they're owned by Japan's NTT, 8 Tier lll DCs in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, and New Delhi), and HostDime (New Delhi DC)

Just has a glance through the website and it seems like they are a sister company owned by another Indian based hosting company.

There are also some good Indian discussion boards available in the net, so you can also ask experienced webmasters on Indian hosting forums as well.

I can also recommend a few of the providers that have been mentioned:
LeapSwitch - Pune HostVirtual - Chennai HostDime - New Delhi MilesWeb - Indore
I can not recommend these
Tata InstaCompute - Hyderabad - their website is the abysmally slow Go4Hosting - New Delhi - we had a billing issue that really derailed the relationship, otherwise we might still be with them CTRLS - Hyderabad - paying them was a pain if you didn't have an Indian credit card

The one you mentioned in your post. Seems like a sister company to me.

@Voicefuse
Any specific reason for having a 1gbit port ? It is practically impossible to get anything above 100mbps on a VPS in India given the state of datacenters and network capacity/backbones.
Thank you for mentioning us.
Thank you for the recommendation.
