DNS Cluster Proof of Concept For Small Organization

I plan to to get 2 VPS. One for my primary website and another one for my clients. Both VPS will have its own cPanel/WHM licenses. I want to be able to use only these nameservers that will be set up on VPS 1 where my primary website also resides. ns1.mydomain.com ns2.mydomain.com How do I "combine" these 2 servers as cluster so that they syncronize and I only need to manage the zone files from VPS1 and no need to touch anything on VPS2 (dns server also disabled on this server). I've been lurking around WHT for a week now and have not found the answer. The cPanel documentation regarding DNS Cluster is also unclear maybe because I'm not a native English speaker, it's very hard for me to understand how this works... Sorry to moderators, this is my last thread until I can solve my problem. I don't want a solution like hiring a sysadmin to do the job, I want to learn and understand this myself and thank you for the knowledge.

If you want to use ns1 and ns2 only for both VPS, then you need to get another 2 VPS in separate data center locations for your DNS cluster. If you do not intend to grow and will remain 2 VPS only, then stick to the old setup. ns1 and ns2 for 1 vps and ns3 and ns4 for the other vps.

While not directly support, there are tutorials on the web to use PowerDNS with cPanel that can run in a master / slave configuration to do what you want. Google would be your friend here.

Hi, Yes, you can configure DNS cluster between your existing servers. If you have any difficulties to configure this, please PM me, I can help you.

I finally figured it out myself. I have a working network now. Client -> Resolver -> Registrar -> DNS Server -> (Backup DNS Server) -> VPS 1 or VPS 2 with A record of the domain the clients wanted to open. I made a write-only cluster and synchronized the zones. Now all my websites are working fine. TQ.
