Yeah, that is pretty much it, i think. I'm basically nearing down my list of providers to go with.

I think you need to check review sites. Most of them structure review by the options you mentored. I want to say that on those sites information is already gathered and structured and you won't need to spend a lot of time gathering in in this thread.
In any case your own testing company you are interested in can help you better understand if they meet your needs.

I can give you my own experience i start with them 2013 have 13 Fully Managed VPS 15 Reseller plan and 5 Shared plan. Support On time but right now i think they are short of technical team,
How long have you been with them: almost 3 years
How has the stability of the network been: Perfect, we have DDOS protected VPS still some time facing little downtime for their other customers. Honesly i do not have technical Knowledge.
How has the support been: When ever i open a ticket response in hour and solved the problem, Almost month when ever you will open a ticket it will take longer. Personally my issue handle by Francisco, some time Francisco solved my server problem which not hosted with them he is help full.
What do you use it for: CMS website and Email is most important for my customer.
Would you recommend them: yes i do
Happy with them That's why i recommend them.

I personally think there's much greater value to the reviews provided by WebHostingTalk members than on these review websites.

I think that is personal. But I'm sure that negative reviews 90% are hones reviews made by unsatisfied users and from them you can learn a lot about the company.

Usually those negative reviews are due to user error. That is evident based on product reviews.

That could be due to many factors I think and "bad" review is not to read about how bad company is - this is the way to learn possible errors and mistakes once you start deal with the companies.
I wanted to say they are useful ones.
