hello guys, I have checked everywhere but Unable to find how much Bandwidth OVH provide. Some People says its Un-metered some says its only up to 5 TB etc. So, May I Know how much bandwidth they are providing with this package EG : 32 ? Link : http://www.ovh.ie/dedicated_servers/infra/

Hello, It's unlimited, you have access to a 1Gbps Port guaranteed at least 500Mbps. ,Ashley

Check Guaranteed bandwidth - 500mbps, they guarantee you that - K M G bps: 500,00 Mbps 0,50 Gbps B/s: 62,50 MB/s 0,06 GB/s B/min: 3,75 GB/min iB/s: 59,60 MiB/s 0,06 GiB/s K M G T B/hr: 225,00 GB/h 0,23 TB/h B/day: 5,40 TB/d B/mon: 162,00 TB/m After that you can use more but it is not guaranteed they followed online.net with unlimited

Posted by ReliableSite, 04-11-2014, 09:58 AM
It's unmetered, but they only have a specific amount of guaranteed throughput.

Posted by Shoaib_A, 04-11-2014, 03:49 PM
Previously it was minimum 300 Mbps unmetered but recently they have made it 500 Mbps unmetered. That 5 TB restriction used to be with their previous Kimsufi ranage, I don't think it is in effect right now.

Posted by Cyber host, 04-24-2014, 06:22 AM
So Its Unlimited? If I use up to 64,000 GB of Bandwidth any Problem will come?

Posted by WebMeso, 04-24-2014, 06:26 AM
Unlimited doesn't really exist. There is always a Fair Use Policy or some other limit built into it. Unlimited = marketing trick.

Posted by Cyber host, 04-24-2014, 06:41 AM
I see.. But Now one able to say exact

Posted by thund3rbolt, 04-24-2014, 06:58 AM
It's definitely unmetered and unlimited in that sense.. But of course there's restrictions with what you can do.. i.e I believe in their terms of service it states that they reserve the right to limit or cap your bandwidth if you're found to be doing video streaming or something thats really bandwidth intensive.. But otherwise its definitely a great bargain (in my opinion)

Posted by Noopy, 04-24-2014, 08:41 PM
You believe? Good job spreading misinformation.

Posted by thund3rbolt, 04-24-2014, 08:43 PM
I've read it myself.. so unless they changed it..it still applies.. im not the only one who knows this. You really think you can just use ovh for any kind of usage and get away with it? Good luck

Posted by Noopy, 04-24-2014, 09:16 PM
Show me where you read streaming can get you capped. I'd like to read this nonexistent rule.

So quick to jump on me http://www.ovh.com/ca/en/support/ter...ted_server.pdf SECTION 7.7: If the Customer’s infrastructure generates a total bandwidth of more than 101Mbps, OVH shall use its best efforts to maintain the Customer’s service SECTION 8: BANDWIDTH Bandwidth: computer data rate in bits per second, and determining the exchange capacity between the server and the OVH network. OVH guarantees bandwidth up to the rate shown on the OVH site for the concerned range of server. The bandwidth is no longer guaranteed when the server or servers are used for the following activities: • Anonymization service (proxy), CDN service; • Storage Platform or file exchange (including but not limited to cyberlocker); • Downloading platform; • Service bypassing limitations imposed by downloading platforms (downloaders); • Platform for watching online videos; • Server(s) used for downloading and sending files on peer to peer seedbox). In addition, OVH cannot guarantee the bandwidth when the server activity requires an intensive bandwidth use. In this case, OVH will contact the client to explore his consumption in detail

That means they they have a limit, they just wont tell you that outright.

Posted by thund3rbolt, 04-24-2014, 09:37 PM
He was trying to say there were no rules.. but anyway regardless OVH is still a hell of a deal and still works out great for many uses.

Posted by Mr Terrence, 04-24-2014, 09:41 PM
What do you mean they are no rules? Those were the TOS.

Posted by Noopy, 04-24-2014, 09:50 PM
You're right. But it doesn't say anything about a cap. Regardless, I use about 300TB of data a month via OVH amongst a few servers. Been pushing consistent bandwidth for a few years now (same account).

So I wish I will be Fine as I am using only 64,000 GB Bandwidth with my package Last edited by Cyber host; 04-25-2014 at 01:56 PM.

does that apply to all their packages? Sounds weird to me I was considering one of their storage line of servers: ovh com/ca/en/dedicated-servers/storage/2014-FS-48T.xml is that thing capped monthly ? especially for streaming , seedboxes , maxing-out-everything stuff? kind of hazy about whether that stuff is ever throttled

How do I upgrade my bandwidth. Support just told me to do it through the web panel but I do not see anything that resembles a way to upgrade bandwidth. Please help!

OVH Manager--->Dedicated--->Server Status--->Bandwidth--->Order Attached Thumbnails

I share SP32 with my friends, and they're maxing solid ~40 TB /month. They guarantee 500 Mbps line, and 1 Gbps burst for certain amount of time. If you are maxing 500 Mbps all day all night and pushing out ~120+ TB bandwidth monthly, they will set your port speed to 10Mbps for sure lol. They don't care about the above as long as you don't do insane bandwidth with your "unmetered" server lol. Those are listed usually only because they will generate that 120+ TB traffic monthly on a 500Mbps port. Last edited by stefeman; 09-26-2016 at 04:53 PM.

I don't ahve that button for some reason.

For now its unlimited though at the first stage it was a less bandwidth (I mean around 300 Mbps) but currently they are providing full edges of Bandwidth.

Posted by chovy, 09-26-2016, 10:49 PM
I had to use their API to upgrade my bandwidth. Don't know why I don't have an Order button, but the API method workds

Posted by Hosting4Real, 09-27-2016, 04:59 AM
No, they'll cap it to the guaranteed bandwidth :-) Not 10Mbps - even if you max it out at 162-167 terabyte a month (which is 500Mbps)

Posted by Shoaib_A, 09-27-2016, 08:29 AM
It might be due to the reason that your server already has the 10 Gbps connection speed which is currently maximum what OVH offer. According to the bandwidth details of your server it 10 Gbps connection with 10 Gbps download & OVH to OVH bandwidth but upload speed is 1 Gbps. But guaranteed bandwidth for their Hosting dedicated servers is 250 Mbps I think so there should be a way to increase it. Strange that the upgrade bandwidth button doesn't exist for that server. Glad to know that you were able to upgrade the guaranteed bandwidth for your server even if you had to do it through their API

At least this gives a heads up to others who may encounter the same issue.

Posted by FIberded, 10-11-2016, 03:55 PM
hello In this data center server port has 500 Mbps warranty is no matter how you want to use the full amount of this port.

Posted by stefeman, 10-11-2016, 05:22 PM
Yes, I checked it later on from the support. 500 Mbps is guaranteed no matter how many hundreds of terabytes you transfer.
