| Hi..I want to know that which one is mostly used in web servers php or asp?

| It really depends on what applications you intend to develop, most web hosts provide PHP as ASP is a Windows technology. Although larger companies may prefer ASP or JSP due to its more concise languages and features. So yes PHP is more widely used but it would really depend on personal preference and features required for the web application being developed.

| If you are looking for Linux environment then php and mysql works great and if windows environment then asp.net works great for this.

| PHP is the most widely used and in my opion easiest to use language for backend web apps.
Thats not to say ASP isn't useful, if you have a program running which needs info to be displayed on a webpage ASP is very useful as you can use dll's to pull the information out of the program far more easily than PHP. ASP also has some other smaller advantages so it really depends on what you need to do, but for most cases PHP is better.

As others have said, ASP is not obsolete though, ASP is still very useful. It all depends on what your final goal is.
PHP is easier to learn (in my past experiences) and easiest to put together. It has most functions that are needed for just about anything.

| I have always used PHP, its more popular and supported now, I remember almost 5-10 years ago ASP.net was all the rage.
I much prefer PHP, but ASP still has its uses.

| I'm pretty sure PHP is more popular overall, but i suspect that ASP may still be dominant in some sectors such as big outsourced websites (eg .gov.uk sites). Seems to be a tendency these days for sites to 'hide' what underlying technology they use.

| PHP chipper and you will find many developers to do the work.
and the prices are much more makeing sence.
