Budget server with high bandwidth

Posted by tomazo, 10-15-2016, 07:12 AM
Hi, is there any other company than online.net offering budget servers below 20 eur / month with 1 gbps unmetered? https://www.online.net/en/dedicated-server#perso

Nope, better grab it :-)

What's the second best thing then?

Nothing unless you pay 3 digit amount but you get 100TB deal at low cost compare to 1gbps unmetered. What is your hardware requirement?

Anything with SSD over 50 GB would do.

It's not really unmetered at Online.net. They have "guaranteed bandwidth" for each server plan, if you exceed it too many times they will rate-limit your network port to 100mbps. Your best bet would be their other bran - scaleway: https://www.scaleway.com/ You will have 200mbps unmetered bandwidth starting from 2.99 euros/mo.

Those "PERSONAL family" servers have 2.5 gbps connection and 1 gbps guaranteed. If you go over 1 gbps too often, they limit it to 1 gbps. I experienced that, but that's fine.

I can suggest you direction: check within Netherlands based providers. There are a lot of good Data Centers there and a lot of good network providers and lower prices.

I would go for OVH. If you go for Online.net please read carefully what is the support SLA on hardware.

So you're already with them? Or were with them?
