Suggestions for Reseller...

Hi guys/gals..
I was just wondering about something...
Is there a way (common way) to tell your customers that you're reseller of another service without turning them off....
It's been quite apparent that when people find out that you're a reseller, they may not have the same confidence in your company compared a non reseller...Of course, the entire industry is full of resellers in one way or another...
But, in terms of reselling hosting services from another host. I don't want them to come to me like a couple of weeks later and asking me for a refund because they have misconceptions about resellers and they didn't know I was a reseller when they initially signed up.
Is there a way of saying that I am a reseller without having to say, "I'm a reseller of so an so company..."
I don't want to lie to my customers and say I have my own NOC and hundreds of servers...(a la tacidhost.com...)

Hmm.. tough one...
I guess my main approach is to be honest and up front about what it is I do...
My focus goes on the fact that I offer value added services and I'm someone they can actually speak to, see, etc... With my 99% customers I'm designing and managing their site too so the fact that I know the people I'm hosting them through has easily explained benefits. I'm also quick to point out just how much I make on the hosting contract which is virtually zip given various phone prices, etc...
Up until recently I also used to note the positive relationship I had with my provider... that went out the window I'm sad to say.... but the signs look good with the new arrangement.
If you're only offering hosting though then I'm not sure how you'd pitch the deal.

Value Added" often (if not always) means you are a reseller or retailer of some sort and this applies in all sorts of industries. It's a "retailers" term that seems to be losing cache as more and more manufacturers sell direct to the public. Of course, you can't expect the buying public to know these things but it is quite a common term.
We are quite open about our retailer status and make full use of this status on our site and in our promotion. Some customers don't want a "middleman" while others appreciate the personal care and attention that you can offer.
Describing yourself as offering "value added" services should be a safe way to let people know that you sell a product and improve upon it (with your charming and helpful service) in some fashion.
I'm not sure if that helps but until you start having refund requests because of your description, you may be sweating prematurely

well as others say be upfront about it
advertise as the best of both worlds
you get teh best connections that small companies can not provide and the places the computers live (NOC) are specialy designed for just that serving interent pages (techwords) but you are able to buy up bulk amounts of there bandwith and resell it and provide the customer service you found large corporations could nto offer.
I would work around the lines or something like that
