Hi,
"lowest numbered MX record points to local host"
I've gotta peculiar problem with my mail. I'm using exim mail... I've got lot of user accounts created for the domain abc.com like aa@abc.com, ab@abc.com .... etc.. The problem is i cant send mails from aa@abc.com to ab@abc.com. I'm getting the following errors in /var/log/exim_mainlog.
2003-02-18 13:15:41 18lF5Y-00056h-00 <= user1@xxx.server1.com U=user1 P=local S=489

Also, when i send from outside say from my rediff a/c to aa@abc.com, i get the following errors:
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at webmail36.rediffmail.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

550-You may also have been rejected because your ip address
550-does not have a reverse DNS entry.
550 relaying to prohibited by administrator
Giving up on 66.220.25.147.
At the same time, i can send mails from aa@abc.com to my rediff account without any problem.... meaning sending mails to outside the domain is working fine, but nothing works inside the domain....
Plzzzz help..... 'cuz its eating up my hairs.......
Thanks in advance.....

Chicku,
I have had this same issue in the past. Run eximconfig again and when it asks you what other names this server is known at tell it abc.com_other.com all together "_" is a space by the way.

Yuhoooo....
Thanks for asssisting.......
A cpanel bug (that I haven't seen before) where the domain was missing from the internally-used list of "local domains" on the server.
That was the problem...
Got fixed for gooood ......
Now i can have a sound sleeeeeeeppppp.....

NP, I recognized what it was since I have run into it, I was not aware that it was Cpanel related too.

I run into the same issue.
The domain was missing from the file:
/etc/localdomains
I wonder if this is a cpanel bug. I was messing with the zone files earlier.
