Reselling

Posted by batcavenet, 04-14-2002, 05:09 PM
I recently purchased two servers at venturesonline and am interested in reselling and getting more servers / etc. I'm curious as to how much one should charge for this service? I was thinking of offering half price off my normal plans as cost to the reseller. I know I wouldn't charge for a reseller account itself. JDT

What I would do is look around....here find the different hosters then go to their web sites (the specials postings to)and take note of their costs and make your own costs up going by the average.

No, you shouldnt do it that way. You should work out how much you need to charge to cover all your prices and make a decent profit, then thats what your charge. Not just what other people are charging, for all you know they could just be doing it for fun with no intention fo making money.

of course you have to cover your prices...I never said you didn't and or shouldn't. but then again you need to know what others charge and for what features......and prices. Lets be real......I'm sure SplashHost.com is not affraid of some competition. I'm not saying steal your rates......just look at what other charge for plans he might offer. but he'll have to cover his prices somehow....either in a few more dollars per plans or setup fee's.

so which works better charging the user per domain and then giving them a free account for themselves? or just do the bulk plan where they go by bandwidth.. JDT
