ASP multiple domain hosting / reseller
Posted by gdpayne, 06-19-2002, 05:05 PM |
I'm looking for a multiple hosting/reseller option. What I need is the ability to quickly buy and setup new domains as the inspiration strikes. Being able to sell hosting to all those who ask me where they should host their sites would be useful, but by no means essential. Sites would be low bandwidth, any that actually took off could be moved elsewhere.
It must have:
> ASP - I know how to make that work and have lots of reuseable elements
> Unlimited Domains - that's the point really
> Unlimited Subdomains - one concept needs it
> Unlimited Email etc. - completes the set
> Usual components, eg email, XML - I tend to use such things
> SQL databases - not much point in ASP if you can connect
> 99% uptime - perfection I don't need, but I also don't need a lemon
> The name of a site hosted on the server in question - I want to be able to check the ping, its no good being hung off something that reacts as if its in Mongolia.
> Helpful prompt support - Shouldn't need it, but if there are problems I don't want to wait and wait.
Nice to have would be:
> NT based - I know most are Linux, etc. and it shouldn't make a difference, but the devil you know, plus you can't run Access databases on Linux.
> Able to take SSL certificate
> 300Mb storage - Shouldn't need too much, but don't want to be caught out.
> 3-5 Gb bandwidth - should be more than enough
> be in UK - difficult, but my understanding is that its illegal to host personal data in the US, and that's quite possible with a virtual Extranet.
> Oh, and not cost much so that if the ideas fail I don't lose too much !
Any offers or pointers ?

Welcome to WebHostingTalk.com
I'm not sure if you're making a direct request to hosts for hosting or if you are looking for recommendations from folks etc. If you want to seek offers from hosts directly, then there's the ad forum for that kind of request.

Bit of both really, but I take your point that putting it in the requests forum is probably a better bet.
