How do I delete a SSL certificate from my server?
Posted by netpox, 10-07-2009, 06:37 PM |
I have a dedicated server with WHM/cpanel access. I installed a SSL certificate for one of my domain names and then installed another one. Didnt know the domain names had to be on seperate IP's for the SSL to work correctly so now if you go to https://www.website1.com it for some reason shows my other website.
Anyways what i want to do is delete everything that is under my SSL certificates in WHM and start over.
When i go to WHM - SSL Key/Crt Manager i can only view them but can't delete them. How do i delete them?

Do you have root access to WHM or an reseller account?
If you have root access to WHM try the below URL:
http://yourip:2086/scripts2/listsslhosts
Hope this helps.

ask your host to provide you with enuf privileges or ask them to delete the cert for you.
Simple option is to switch one domain to a dedicated IP

You can delete the SSL via WHM >> SSL/TLS >> Manage SSL Hosts

It seems you do not have root access to your WHM, contact your technical support for further assistance.

You can delete the SSL from within WHM, and if you want remove them off the server the certificate are stored at:
/usr/share/ssl/certs
and the keys:
/usr/share/ssl/private

it needs to be removed from /usr/share/ssl/certs
and the keys: /usr/share/ssl/private otherwise from whm with root access.

Hello,
Login as root over a terminal / putty and cd to the mentioned folders .Then do an ls -la you will find the certificates .. rename the one you needs to delete to a .bak file . also do the same to its key in the private folder . then restart httpd and see if you still get error . If you are not confident with this seek help of some professionals .
